Been feeding my two Saint Bernard puppies Nutro for Large Breed Puppies. I thought this was a good food, but read some things like that it has lots of "fillers". My dogs seem to love it, but their coats are kind of wirey?! Help please!
I think it's a middle of the road sort of food that's overpriced for what you get. You can get better food for your buck if you buy something like innova or canidae.
Oh my gosh, I just went to Innova's website and compared it to what I am feeding! Yikes! I feel horrible for feeding them that stuff-and I feel cheated because it isn't cheap! Next dog food I buy will be Innova! Thanks for the advice!
You may want to check out Eagle Pack Large Breed Puppy Formula as well. It is a VERY good quality food with a lot of research behind it, especially for large breed puppies. http://www.eaglepack.com/Pages/HS_LGPuppy.html
*Forgot to add that I personally like the Holistic Line instead of the regular Eagle Pack line.
I wouldn't say that Nutro is a bad food... like everyone else said, it is a mediocre food for the price. I used to feed it to Madison (when he was a puppy for about a month) and he had wirey fur... as soon as I switched him to a holistic food, his coat got so soft.
Yeah, Nutro is not a bad food, but it's not a great one and it's super overpriced!
We're switching from Nutro to Canidae, just to give you yet another option of premium kibble. =>
