I got a cute Shih Tzu but he dosent have some typical physical characteristics, his hair is woolly not silky, he has a longer snout, no beard his mustache or furnishings are more terrier like, his eyes are close set and not the peki and pug look like, he dosent have the top hsir growing from near his nose, yet he dosent seem to be a cross either, are some Shih Tzus this way? oh his tail resembles a Chows, I wonder he's a Shih Chow or Chow Tzu. anyways he is too cute and looks like a toy.

if you got him from a byb or a petstore all bets are off, even if he comes with papers. If you got from a rescue or shelter... well they take their best guess.

If you got from a good breeder, talk to them about it. It is possible to have throwbacks. We had a pup we called 'Flooferdoodle' Even from the day she was born you could tell her coat was funky for a JRT. It was soft and fluffy and silky. She looked like a lot of those designer dogs. (underneath the hair she was ALLLL JRT).

So the answer is... with out a pic, who knows.

It feels weird having the dog around me, just a week ago he was a stranger I was looking at in photos, owner himself bought it from someone else, who had imported the parents from elsewhere.

Ok so we can rule out Shih Tzu for sure, also people are saying hes atleast two years old as hes quite big, even I was surprised when I picked him up from the airport, owner said he was 8 months, how do I figure out his age, his vaccination book says born in March.

Could justbe a very poorly bred tzu happens all the time. Id assume the person who said he was 8 months is correct as 8 months go was march.
