Ok between Tips and Boris, it's obvious that Boris is the dominant one. He's always humping Tips, Tips just lets him do it, plus Tips always follows Boris' lead for everything.

Except for two things. First, walks. Tips always pulls to walk in front. Then last night we gave them some raw chicken neck, liver etc (first time), Tips ate in his crate as usual, but he growled at Boris when he got close (the door was closed though). When we open the door after they both had eaten, Tips attacked Boris as soon as he got close from the crate, then followed him out of it and attacked him again. Not much harm done, the whole time Boris was there wagging his tail like crazy (did he think he was playing?), and I just asked Tips to go back to his crate and he did, and 10 minutes later everything was back to normal. But when we give them yummy food in Boris' bowl, they both eat there without a fight (we haven't tried raw there though, so not sure what would happen).

So, anyway, is this normal? They had got one other fight over a frozen yoghurt/peanut butter kong once when Boris got close to Tips. Obviously, from now on I will only feed those tasty things with Tips in his crate to avoid fights, but should I be worried it's going to escaladate into something more than food? Is Tips actually the dominant one? It's hard to believe because he's really mellow compared to Boris usually. Is there anything else I could do?

I completely understand what you are talking about. When Cyrus was with us, and they ate their normal food all was ok they were practically side by side, but if there was a treat involved then Cyrus would give Dixie a warning that this one was his...never really an ugly attack, but Cyrus would make his point. Then everything was back to normal. Dixie had always been the dominant, but when Cyrus felt threatened with losing his treat, he would step up to the plate.
