my friend has an intact male ridgeback. he is one of the sweetest dogs i've ever met. given his breed and intact-ness. he's so good. doesn;t even wander.

mum decided not to get harry desexed. i see her point. i wouldnt like to be spayed. buster was supposed to get a vesectomy. the vet said ok, he would do it. we went back to get him in the aftrenoon and they'd neauterd him. :( it really pissed me off. a lot. i know he is already agressive enough but the vet just didnt do as he said he would. that makes a dangerous vet if you ask me. they should pay more anttentiion

so we are going to have 2 undesexed females and an undesexed male. this is going to be interesting. haha. ahh well.

just like to state that we ARN'T leting them breed. a manchester terrier/border collie/fox terrier/cattle dog or a cattle dog/mastiff isn't nice. haha. mum just likes intact male dogs personailty's better. i prefer desexed males personalities. and i wouldn't like to desex sophie now. it changes a dogs personality. as does letting them have puppies. and i love all our dogs just how they are.
Having two un-fixed females and one male isn't very fun either. Why would your mum choose to not spay the girls and leave the boy alone? Especially where they are all mixed breeds and have a chance of mating together we already know that from this forum "accidents happen" ;)

Red ... I just saw your post to me. Personally , if you are not in a breeding program , it's safer for all concerned to spay and neuter . As I was , I was just pointing out that in some breeds , the males act the same . My Golden boys actually asked me permission for them to breed ! They were so used to having females in heat around them growing up ( not at " that " time ! ) But remember , my Goldens were wooshies !

Tucker is quiet interesting intact. Which is why are are having him neutered finally. Anyways before Tucker "matured" he was great with all dogs of any sex. But now he is very territorial towards other males especially intact males. He isn't aggressive towards people or female dogs at all but male dogs he is weird around. Like I said he is going to be neutered and I have been working with him with his manners.

Tucker is also how I like to call him (lovingly I might add) a Cocker on Crack lol. He is energy energy engery all the time nonstop. So if being neutered might chill him out even slightly it couldn't hurt.

she likes un desexed dogs personalities better. its just her. she doesn't like cutting off bits of her pet. i see her point. and we are just going to have to be careful. and if worst comes to worse then a next day abortion is in order. its not the end of the world. and yes, accidents happen. and its a risk. but my dog and cat and soon to be my rabbit is desexed. mums and grace's arn't.i dunno. just different opinions i guess.
