It also depends on what you do with your dog. If you are doing a dog sport like agility or flyball, its really important that your dog isn't carrying extra weight. If the dog isn't super active then there is less risk to joints and tendons as there is far less stress put on them.

I never thought of that! He doesn't do high activity but I am hoping to possibly do dock dogs/agility one day and plus, I want him to do more swimming, hiking and trips around town with me in the future. I just left him at this weight because no one said anything but honestly, I've wanted him to slim down for a while. Plus, I was paranoid he would be to slim but as long as I share photos on here, I can get pointers to make sure he stays at a healthy weight.

Lol, I thought Serenity was going to be a lot fatter from how you said she felt! She looks fine if you're not going anything high impact or crazy active. I can't believe you can't feel any bone though? Anyway, on a short coated dog, I generally like to see the last few ribs when they're moving, at least. But much comes down to personal preference, the individual dog's build, and activity level.

She certainly doesn't look unhealthy.
