All bottled water tastes the same to me unless it's flavored. But our town's water is wretched, and I'm not going to pay for bottled water, so usually I just buy some Jarritoes or Topo Sabores and drink that. Cheaper and tastes better than just water.

Our tap water is really good, well in the winter time it is. Summer time, during the warmest month, it's still good but doesn't get cool enough. The dogs get tap, we drink tap for the most part unless I'm working out, then I love bottled. I used to have plastic containers to refill but chucked them all out when I found out how bad they are for our health, now I need to get some aluminum bottles.

Oh, and as for the bottled water I prefer, I love our states water, Poland Springs BEST. :D

Ah! Good to hear. We are kicking off on exporting our bottled water to the Middle East and the States.

I like dansani best too Coop. THe point of pen and teller was that there are less regulators to check the something or ruther for bottled water then there is your tap water. IF your looking for safety. I wish i could remember if it was on tv or something i read, it was pretty interesting. I like making my tea out of distilled water because i think it taste better. Totally gross out of tap.
Spring water tea is blech.

I drink tap water, no problem here. When I lived at home, we had a brita pitcher in the fridge we'd constantly refill. As long as as it's cold, it tastes good :) At work, I have a nalgene bottle I refill 3-4x a day (I aim for 60+ oz of water a day). I can't imagine going through a case of water every week--definitely not in my budget.

NOR is it good for the planet. I am glad they are making the bottles thinner but still.

It dependson the quality of your tab water. If you have awful well water, then yes.

But according to an experimental lab we did in one of my Medical Microbiology classes, you'd be damned flabbergasted at what is really in some of those bottled waters.:yikes:

We do occasionally buy bottled water, but we also now have stainless steel water containers that we can fill up at home and take with us everyday (well, for me) and for various outings. So there is really no need for bottled water (unless someone can think of a way to train the cat to not attack my water cups at night  ).

I have cold filtered water from my fridge, so I don't generally drink pure "tap" at home but I'm not against it. I keep a case or two of bottled water in the garage. You NEVER know when something may happen and you don't have access to public/well water for several days. It's convenient to have as well because I can grab a bottle on the run.

Some folks prefer bottled for the taste over tap (as demonstrated in this thread). The way I see it, we should all drink more water anyway, so why not drink something you may enjoy over something you can't stand or barely tolerate?

And recycle that darn bottle when you're done. Tossing it in the garbage is a :nono:

theres actually been studies showing that some bottled water is simply tap water from a different town or state

we have a filter that attatches ot the tap, chenage the media once a month and tada, ALOT cheaper...im not paying all that money to drink someone elses "fancy" water...
tap water taste definatly depends on your towns processing and whether your well/city ect all play a part, but a good filter usually helps...i have found hosever tap water tastes better when very cold, out of the tap its Icky...even filtered, so bottle it up and put in in the fridge, tada...

And the 'need to drink more water' thing isn't exactly accurate. It's been over blown out of proportion. You don't need 8 12 oz glasses a day (or whatever the leading figure is).

That's 3 liters (or so...I did this in my head and not sure of the fl oz to liters conversion) a day and you only excrete 1.4ish liters a day. And your body is not that inefficient at conserving water. At least when you're not drunk, that is.

I don't buy bottled water to drink on a regular basis, though I love it. I usually drink Dasani or Aquafina when I do feel parched and absolutely need water during college. I don't find that either have a taste, just like water shouldn't.

We used to have a water filter.. but someone broke it. Nothing ever stays intact around here, so it'd just be waste of money.

If I get really thirsty for water(or lectured to where I can't take it any more that since I'm pregnant I NEEED to be drinking gallons of water a day, lol), I usually send Dustin down to one of his neighbors to get their water. I like their water. :) I'm glad they don't mind. Lol!

Tap waters fine here, I know a lot of people need to buy bottles when travelling because other towns water can mess with them. (Steve used to have to take buckets of water for Lucy his mare everytime they went to a rodeo because she wouldn't drink water from other places)

when we were driving down south though, we stopped at a pub to eat lunch. I thought I'd be good and just drink the free water they were offering. It was freakin awful, I don't know why but it jsut tasted so silky and weird.

But... Ridgy Didge water from the Northern Territory is the best thing since sliced bread.

Our refrigerator has a built in PUR filter so that is what we use. We also have some Sigg and Nalgene bottles that we use when we are going to be out and about and I always take one on the days I have class.

I'm provided anything I could possibly want at work. I'm trying to break the DH habit of buying bottled water at work and remembering to fill up a bottle at home and take it with him.

Our dogs drink filtered water as well and if you put tap water in their bowl Brawt will come sit in front of you and bark and then run to the door of the refrigerator. :)
