Ok, hate to admit it but I am afraid of the dark. I'm 22 years old and freak out when I have to take the dogs out at night. I sleep with a nightlight on in the room and a flashlight on the headboard. I can't help it, I'm guessing I watched one too many scary movies in my life though. The wierd thing is that I was never afraid of the dark and then I watched Darkness Falls and I have been sleeping with a flashlight and nightlight ever since. Is anyone else afraid of the dark, or am I the only wierdo?

Not me, with two big dogs, one on either side and they allow no one near me after dark. Even Storm is a completely different dog after dark, hackles up, teeth showing to anyone who sneaks up without me saying OK. If anyoen is dumb enough to bother me they will have to sets of teeth to deal with.

I have two big dogs too but still freak out when it gets dark outside. It's not so bad with Hannah you can just open the door she'll go out and do her business and then she'll come right back but with Lily you have to walk her all the way back to the darkest part of the yard where the garage light doesn't reach.

I am absolutely terrified of the dark. I sleep with the T.V. on not for noise, but for light, and the bathroom light and hall light stay on half the time. Our backyard isn't lit, so I freak out when I have to take our dogs out. Bah, I even strategically bought a cell phone with a built-in flashlight because I'm such a wimp when it comes to the dark. Kinda pathetic, but what can I do about it?

Im not sure if it was the dark but I used to sleepwalk and sleep fitfully, Ive never slept better with very little sleep walking since getting BD.

Early and late in the season I do get paranoid camping out, we drink a bit when we make camp while out on the rivers. I will be the first to admit being drunk in bear country is not a good idea. It is hard to see bears in the dark.

I feel extremely safe with Rocky- I used to be pretty freaked out about going outside during night time- since I've had Rocky, never. I don't mind it at all.

One suspicious noise and Rocky goes into "beast mode ;) "- his hackles are raised, he makes quick stealthy steps towards the noise, and to top it off releases the most ferocious, thunderous barks I've ever heard.

It's pretty cool really; any noise I hear, Rocky will look at me and know something is wrong, I'll let the door open and he checks everything out... I get the OK to come when he finally comes up to me wagging his tail.

But I don't sleep with Rocky so... I don't feel as safe as I do when I'm sleeping- but he guards the door, so then again, I do.

Of all the things that make me nervous in the world, the dark isn't among them. Mind you, if I take Quincy out at night I'm a little nervous about the other four legged beasties out and about. Skunks are scary!

At night I always figure having Quincy around is pretty handy. If anybody breaks in, he'd keep them occupied playing "Fetch the Rubber Chicken" while we escape out a window. I love my dog, but accept his limitations. A guard dog he ain't. Had an alarm system installed because I'd rather stop somebody BEFORE they got in, or at least know about them trying.

Ok, but I admit it. After I saw "The Ring" I couldn't go to sleep with the TV on and I still check under the bed every once in a while.

I sort of am. I hate going in our back yard at night. Its so creepy. I never worry about who is out there, but WHAT is out there. Privacy fence on both sides of us, then when the corn has grown behind us.....wind blows and you can hear the corn russling. Creeps me out.
I cant sleep with a light on, but I dont get scared when my husband is home. Yet, I cant stand to walk thru the house in the dark, I turn lights on. I am a coward of the unknown. A coward of what might be out there.

that's exactly it, I'm not afraid of WHO is out there but WHAT. I have a dolphin light that glows blue and it's not really bright. So it doesn't keep us awake at all. I have a night light in the bathroom, hallway, two in the livingroom and then one in the kitchen for when I have to get up and it's dark (usually I'll just wait until morning unless it's SUPER important though).

I'm kind of afraid of the dark. When I'm with Morgan, in MY house, I can get up and go pee in the dark. When I'm alone, in my house, its difficult. I do try but, I can't. I like run or something. If I'm in Morgans house, there is absolutely no having it. I have to have about 20 torches, all the lights on, a headlight, everything, his house is just freak-kay. When I stayed there once I had graphic dreams about us trying to escape from ghosts in there. *shudder*.

Heheheh . . . Let's see, between Bimmer, Shiva and Kharma . . . what do you think? :D When it was just me and Bear, if I heard something I'd just get up and the two of us would go out and see what was what. And Buffy . . . well, I always knew that if there ever WAS anything or anyone lurking, heheh, let's just say that Buffy was ALWAYS the LAST creature anyone or anything wanted to meet  I've had that faith in my dogs all the way back to when I was four and it was just me and Mickey the Terrier.
