My grandma and I are having a little disagreement on Whisper's weight, and she thinks shes too thin, when I think shes just right! Shes not a very big dog, and thats fine. And I know Labs gain weight very easy. But Whisper is one that hasn't really been that big from a pup. When we got her she was 8 pounds! She looked like she was going to be huge, but shes turned out to be somewhat mediumish. I don't think she has much more to grow! What do you guys think? Thank you for reading!

It's hard to say without seeing her height/build.

When you stand over her and look down you should be able to see a "waist line" and if you touch her you should be able to feel ribs, but not necessarily SEE them standing out. You should not be able to see or count her spine bones or anything.

If you have a pic, post it, I am sure everyone here will give their honest opinion Spirit :)

it totally depends on her build rather than breed. if you can, post a picture.

It's kind of hard to judge her body from those pictures.........but I would say NO, she isn't too thin at all.

Apparently if you see a few ribs, you don't have to worry unless there is spine showing too.

Bodhi was always ribby until she was a bit older and filled out.

My lab is almost 9 months old and she's about 50-55 lbs. She's very lean in her midsection. She looks like she doesn't even have a tummy. She's not chubby at all. She's just lean. Your lab looks like she might have the same kind of body style that mine does. She doesn't have that pudgyness (I don't think that's a real word LOL) in her belly. Your lab looks fine to me. Like others have said as long as her spine isn't visibal, i think she's ok.

She looks athletic and trim. How Labs are SUPPOSED to look! I think she looks perfect in the pics.

She looks great, like she could run on and on forever. Not chubby or skinny.. right there in a healthy range.

She is also muscular too. Muscles in the back legs. And front. :p Thank you everyone for the opinions! :)

I agree, for nine months she's fine! She's looks perfect for a female lab! Gipsy weighs somewhere are 62 pounds at almost 8 years - I don't think she weighed much more at 9 months.
