I think I see some of you from other forums, but...I just joined here recently, and I don't think I've introduced Amber, my Anatolian/Elkhound mix. (so we guess) We adopted her as a six month old puppy, Memorial day weekend, 2001. So...She has been here eight years exactly.
At six months old she had already had four or five homes. Home #1 gave her away as a Christmas gift (she was born early December..which would mean she was way too young). Home #2 (gift recipient) realized they couldn't care for a dog and brought her to the shelter. She was then repeatedly adopted and returned, the home before us bringing her back because she was too "Puppyish." (surprise surprise)
She's really protective when you are outside the house, but when you're welcomed in she will lie down for a tummy rub.
Her only flaw is being Dog Aggressive, which really sucks, because I would love to foster.
On to the pics...
This winter..first snow of the year.
Posing..
Couple weeks ago..it was sooo hot.
After getting a haircut.
Just giving me a big smile. (look at those gray hairs!)
Thinking...Thinking...
A dog at an adoption event that was IDENTICAL to her. (The dog on the right is still for adoption...eh?)
Thanks for looking!
