Is there a major difference between the two. My mother has been looking at both these foods but SG is a bit cheaper then the EVo. Are they both just as good? How is the kibble size? She needs a smaller size kibble.

One major difference is that Solid Gold uses salmon and beef for their meat sources, and EVO uses chicken and turkey. I'm not sure on the kibble size, but I've heard the EVO is pretty small.

The EVO kibbles are very small, my Papillon has a tiny mouth and has no problem eating those. I haven't tried the SG yet, so I don't know about that.

I have seen VERY picky dogs eat EVO. I bet your boy will eat it...dogs crave protein and fat and EVO is loaded with it!:)

I do know that the Solid Gold BATM kibbles were too big for my Papillon, but the EVO is perfect size.

Yes, my dog is very picky, but he loves the Evo. And like the others said, the kibbles are very small.

Update:

well my mom brought me a sample this morning, and boy o boy BlackJack (my picky one) went NUTS for it, there is no wet food on it at all and he ate it. My little girl also ate a bunch, so i'm going out to buy my own bag today. they don't even eat wet food like this. I'm SO happy!

Now I know wet food is good for dogs, should I still offer him a little bit maybe for lunch daily?

BatM contains concentrated potato protein as an ingredient, which makes me think the meat content may be lower than in Evo while still maintaining a similar guaranteed analysis - which would explain the lower price.

Both are good products though, and it's definitely nice to have a grain free food that doesn't contain any poultry. :)

I emailed Natura about EVO's testing of hormone and antibiotics in their meat. I received this response:

We test our ingredients to be free of antibiotic and hormones to laboratory standards.
What are laboratory standards?

Has anyone noticed the addition of menadione to the hundchen flocken puppy? I saw in a store last night and I saw it--but it isn't in the ingredients on the website. PetFoodDirect also lists it in the ingredient list.

Mordy,

What do you think about "Nature's Variety Raw Instinct"

I feed my dogs EVO atm but was just wondering about some of the other grain free foods out there.

I have only heard of 3 grain free/high protien foods
EVO
Raw Instinct
Bark at the moon

Are there any more grain free/high protien foods?

Any help on this?
I can only repeat what I posted in regards to this on another thread:

I think your best bet would be to contact the manufacturers of the brands you are interested in and ask for the local distributor closest to you. Then call them and ask if they would be willing to ship to you.
