I don't remember my chest piece hurting much afterwards other than feeling a little like a sunburn. It just started feeling really itchy a few days after.
My forearm pieces both swelled up pretty good and I could barely move my arms. That lasted a day or two. After that I felt absolutely nothing for a few days and then really itchy for about a week or so.
My piece on my calf was pretty similar to my arms. I also have a bunch of little tattoos and I don't remember any of them swelling after, but probably because they didn't take anywhere near as long as my bigger stuff.
