for a wonderful woman, Victor's and my heroes, Save Our Strays. I will be getting this posted hopefully tomorrow. IT is tempting as all get out to send her some pics but that would kind of ruin the surprise wouldn't it. The sculpture is about 3 inches tall. Iron oxide and white slip for markings, black slip for eyes, and undercoat of nose. Small amount of glaze for collar nose and bowl. Really hard to get a good pic, looks better in real life. I couldnt' have asked for a better firing. Sleeping woman with dogs however was destroyed. I don't know why. I had one bowl break as well, which never ever happens. The clay was very dark, which makes me wonder if things got a bit too hot. That's the way it goes. People do not understand why ceramics are so expensive, but that is because they do not know the success rate vs disasters, or the complicated process. THis is a gas kin not electric, color is caused by a reduction firing. The variables are endless.
