You sound like you'll make a wonderful owner for this pup, the waiting must be killing you!! I would read up, there were a few books I've wished I read earlier. Check these out, you probably don't need Click to Calm (It's about aggression training) and I still have not read Control Unleashed, I can't fine it anywhere :(, If I were you the first books I'd be getting are Bones Would Rain from the Sky and the Culture Clash. The first of those is really helpful on building a good relationship with your dog, the second is just a very good overall behavior/training book. If you want step by step how to train stuff then The Power of Positive Dog training would be another one to add, I found it a bit boring because I already had a basic ideas of how to train that stuff but it did give many pointers/steps that I had not thought of. If you can though, read them all :D If you want more info on any of the books I've read all but the first one so I can tell you about them: http://www.amazon.com/gp/registry/wishlist/3FCO2A0GVYWDG/ref=lst_llp_wl-go

It sounds like you are an awesome future dog owner. You are so well-organized and prepared. I commend you for all of your efforts. I would only suggest one thing: in all of your excitement, make sure you don't overwhelm your little girl. Watch for, and learn, her signs of stress. Give her lots of time to rest and learn her environment. I have no doubts that you will be a great mom to your little one. Congratulations!! I can't wait to watch her grow. :)
Thank you for your kind words! I know I sound like I'll be a bit of a spaz because I'm SO prepared and SO anticipating this, but I think it'll be ok. I'll do my best to give her her space and see who she is. We're registered in a puppy class, so I'm sure that'll help. If she's not adjusting well I have someone I can turn to for help and tips.
One week and three days to go. :)

Cool! Thanks for the reccommendations. Always good to hear what someone thought of books you've heard of. You get to find out whether they're worth reading or not. :D
I'll check a few out of them out, I think.

What about the name Kara? That might be cute if it goes with her personality! Have fun with your new puppy!!!!

Sometimes they more or less give you clues

You could wait until you get her for the name. Actions, attitude, playfulness and any number of things can just give you a clue as to what to name them.

In the case of our new toy poodle, we couldn't agree on a name. We got her home and 3 days later she still did not have one.

So we are in our L.R. saying names out loud while she was being quite fiesty running and tumbling around on the floor.

As tiny as she is/was when we would say a name she would let out the tiniest growl. Then just watching her I thought Sassy fit her to a T. So, believe it or not, I said "Sassy" and she let out this delightful tiny bark.

So Sassy she is.

I am amazed at one thing you said and that is that the owners are waiting to match up the puppies to new owners.

I think it is best to let the buyer decide on the puppy they want. I use to breed Yorkies for the show ring. Only the buyer knows if a particular pup is right for them. Usually you are drawn to a particular puppy for various reasons.

Just curious!

In working breeds great breeders choose the puppies for the new owners as the breeder is the one that has been around them for all those weeks observing them.
It would not be a good thing :lol-sign: for a GSD that should go to a Schutzhund home to go to a pet home because the new owner thought he/she liked that one best.
