Chipper is 10 months and has decided that when it is wet and cold he wont go to the bathroom outside.

it started with when it was wet, but now even if it's cold.

Any ideas?

Our Pug is like that. Sometimes he won't leave the porch either. I pick him up and take him out and down off the porch into the yard. He has no choice in the matter. If I get wet, so be it!

I thought from the title of this thread that I was going to see a picture of my buddys bass boat.

I agree with Dan. When my puppy was younger he didnt like the harsh elements either so I went out with him. He got no say so in the matter.

My dog will go out in anything. I have a dog door and when it rains he's out more than in. I have to have a gate up in the kitchen so he doesn't muddy up the whole house. Gotta Love the Chinese Crested.

I agree with Dan. Just don't provide an option and go out with your dog when the weather's bad. In the winter here it gets below -30 celcius:eek: . I take my 4 smaller dogs out to a shoveled area one at a time wrapped in up in my coat with me...even my 1.3 oz. dog.

Squid acts like that sometimes.. he doesn't ask to be let out on those days.. so I just have to keep an eye out and keep bringing him out on my own..

Roxy does that too. If it's raining she won't leave the porch. Her ears go back and she shrinks up like the rain is beating her.

I just suck it up and go out with her as opposed to just telling her from the porch to go. She'll tip toe around, (She doesn't like her feet to get wet either, *sigh* what a princess she is) and go as quick as she can.

If they still won't go I'd put a leash on them. Maybe lure them with some treats.

My dog does not mind either, when training him we used to go out at least 20 times a day so rain or shine he got used to it and now I have not issues, he even goes out in the pouring rain.
