Hi Everyone:
A little about my self and Joey. I work for a pet product distributor in Indiana. Before that I worked in pet supply retail, while I was in college. And while I was in high school, I worked as a dog bather for a groomer. I also worked part time as a demo rep for Royal Canin and Merrick while I was in college. I'm pretty well versed in dog and cat nutrition, but I'm definatly not a know it all.
Along with my own experiences, I grew up with a father that was the executive president of the National Animal Control Association and later the president of a bunch of county humane societies. So, my hatred for puppy mills, animal abuse, neglect, and ignorance is second nature to me.
Joey is a terrier mix. We think he is cairn/lhasa and something a little taller. He is 5 years old. I feed Nature's Logic Venison dry along with some raw and some canned.
He is the love of my life. I rescued him. He had 3 owners before he came to me. The first one said "he was impossible to house train" and tied him outside, but they gave him to the second owner at 5 months, so obviously they didn't give him much of a chance. The second owner didn't do anything with him - bad neglect (I'll tell in another post). She was a roommate of my now husband. It was really sad. The only attention my poor little man got was when I came over... so one day I just took him. Unfortunatly, I was in college at the time and didn't have the time or the money to keep him, so I begged my mother to take him. She did. She also nuetered him and paid for his first shots and then graciously gave him back to me as a graduation present, best one ever!
Joey, my husband and I have 2 cats as well.
