IM NEW!! question on bumpy.

hey everyone my name is Glery im new to the forum. i have been reading this forum durring my school break and i didnt come across any thread that mentioned anything about what I'm about to post... so here i go..

i have a 6 month old Shih Tzu named Milo, whom i recieved him for my birthday from my boyfriend when he was 4 months. hes a healthy baby boy but recently i have found a pea sized little ball on his hip i think its a cyst but im not too sure.. i cant make it to the vet anytime soon becuase of school and work. [dont worry my mom takes care of him when im not around.] but my boyfriend will take him soon.. im just wondering if anyone had any idea of what this was about.. or if anyone has had this problem.. also.. he has these small little bumps outside his ears.. i think they are an allergic reaction to his flea collar cause hes never had it before.. anyway please help me out.. thank you id appreciate any responce -glery.

I'd say get him to the vet asap. Only a vet will be able to accurately diagnos and treat whatever the "bumps" are. It could be allergies, cysts, etc. Take the time to get him to the vet to know for sure.

First off take the flea collar off of him and either throw it away or cut it up into small pieces and put it in your vacuum bag to kill any fleas you might vacuum up.

Fleas collars do nothing but harm to an animal. It is a toxic chemical continuously being rubbed into the fur and skin. Many animals who wear them have allergic reactions, burns, hair loss, sickness and even DEATH. So take it off. Treat your dog with a flea medication from the VET ONLY.

I hope the your b/f is able to get the little cutie to the vets soon!!

I second that with the flea collar too........please get rid of it ASAP and then use a Flea remedie from the vets on a regular basis

hey everyone thanks for the replys i greatly appreciate it i didnt knoe that flea collars were so bad i ran and i took it off just as soon as i finished reading the replys.. the bumps were an allergic reaction. and as for the vet we made an appt. for wednesday at 7pm. thank you all very much. & and i am using Harps 1once a month flea application.

If you meant Hartz.......please don't use that either.

It is a very dangerous product...and not that effective either.

My personal choice is Frontline plus.... you can get it from your vet or even online.... If you are interested pm me and I can give you the best sites I have found.

I am glad you took the flea collar off.... as ALCR said the only place I would put one is in my vaccum cleaner.
