just read a bit on them, they say their smart, energetic and clever, very attached to one person etc but can be over the top with kids and snappy with other dogs (typical terrier) but I think a lot of that is how the dog is brought up.

looking for something bigger... i love my JRT, and i'd get another in a heartbeat, but i'm usually a big dog person.

That's funny, my next one will probably be a BIG girl, mainly to keep Milo happy.

Sounds like a doberman would be good for you.

Super easy to train because they are so smart.

Big dog, intimidating but one of the most gentle dogs i've been around.

Very reserved and cautious around small kids and small dogs.

Sleek coat needs occasional brushing and shampooing maybe once a month.

Plus they are beautiful.

Only real thing that didn't match for your list is barkiness. If someone they don't know walks in, they are going to bark their heads off at it until you calm it.

**Adds to list** although i tend to go for bulkier breeds. Dobes (at least the ones i've known) have had a couple bones sticking out. I know Dobes are far from fragile, but it still worries me a bit.

On a side note, if i ever get a dobe, i'm naming it Semper Fi.

Or a Dogo Argentino. They're nice as a "pit alternative." LOL
i'd get a pittie in a heartbeat :) but i'd get one from either a good breeder, or an older shelter dog who has been fostered for a while. I wouldn't feel comfortable getting a puppy or a newly abandoned dog from a shelter if it was a pit bull or any other breed prone to aggression.

And i'm not sure if they're high energy enough for me.
