I'm sadly really upset. She was nice, offered me other dogs, but I don't need another cocker. I just happened to fall for that specific one.

Thinks and is are two different things. Look at BB's Meg...that was a dog so soft she was basically scared of her own shadow and she's gone on to do amazing things in agility. I bet this one has the same chance.
