Nothing long term, but I brought home a 2 week old kitten from the humane society. She came in a week ago COVERED in fleas, nothing more than skin and bones. She's still lacking color in her gums from being so emaciated. The humane officer has agreed to take her during the week, but I have her for tonight and tomorrow. If they need someone again next weekend I will take her then too.

She's black and white. They named her Tuffy. She really hardly even knows how to eat from a bottle, though so far she's been doing alright for me.

Yay! I wish I had a picture.. need to get good batteries for camera.

BTW, we took Raya(8-10 week old kitten) on another walk today to go to eat at Subway. :D

And boy am I tired. I was up every 3 hours last night and had to get up at 7 and worked until 4. Incredibly busy day, we got so much done because we had community service guy and a few other volunteers.. we'd been needing a really good cleaning of the humane socety for a long time. Today was a good day though. Busy tessa is a happy tessa. I LIKED that I didn't have not even one chance to sit down and rest. Its good to be exhausted. :)

Haha.. Oh no. Its staying tonight, maybe next weekend, and its gone. I can't afford a kitten, adn I have no where to keep it once it can walk around. My dogs would eat it. As of right now I'm guarding teh kitten with mylife, not letting any dogs near my room adn my door always shut and the crate up high. WE already ahve another kitten taht we took in(8 weeks) that my sister wants to keep. ANd I'm trying to save my money.

The kitten once it is old enough will be at the humane society or adopted like the rest.

Ahh foster kittens. :D

I did this over the summer myself. I ended up with a cute little black and white boy that I called George. He came in as a 3 week old flea buffet and left a clean, fat, and spoiled 9 week old. Were it not for him, I would not be a champ at preparing a nice batch of formula at 3 am while half asleep with a kitty in one arm.

I remember that after the twilight feedings, I'd wrap him into a towel/blanket "burrito" and bring him back to bed with me. Then I'd just hold on to him and we'd fall back to sleep together. I can still see him to this day in my minds eye, looking all comfy and cozy in his burrito.

The sleepless nights can be a pain at first. But once you see how they grow as a result, you realize it's worth it. Bless you for helping this little one out. :hail:
