I'm back w/ lots o' changes

Hey everyone! I've been absent from the board for a while... don't really know how long... but I just didn't have much time for a while. I was working a lot to save up money for our move to North Carolina. My boyfriend got a job with IBM and I'll be joining the chemical and biomolecular engineering department at NC State. Unfortunately, Skye was a family dog and he had to stay back in Columbus, Ohio with the rest of the family. My boyfriend (Ion) and I miss him very much. But that is where he belongs... we will get to see him on holidays at least.

On Sunday, we got a dog of our own. He's a one year old bi-black Sheltie that we named Malakai. (We call him Kai for short.) He's actually related to Skye, he's from the same breeder. He's the cutest little boy. I just have two pictures for now, the ones the breeder sent me. We have a ton of pictures on our digital camera, but I'll have to ask my boyfriend where the camera wires are when he gets home... I can't find them. Anyway, Kai was being grown out for show, but his canines didn't come in correctly. So we were lucky enough to get a hold of him. He's got a great personality. He's very sweet and sensative. He's very agile too. We call him our little ninja, because you can't hear him when he moves. We definitely love him.

Oh, I love it here! It's so beautiful, and there's a lot of stuff to do around here between Raleigh, Durham, and Chapel Hill. I lived in Columbus my entire life, so it's fun to move to a new place. Plus, it's so much warmer here! I love the weather.

We would have loved to take him... but he was a family dog, not my dog, and the rest of the family didn't want him to move. He's the only "child" they have left. So though we miss him, we felt it was best for him to stay in Columbus. Believe me, he is being well taken care of and spoiled rotten. But when we got a place here, we made sure they allowed dogs so that we could get one of our own.
