Well I took Boozer to the park today for a good hour and a half walk. He does just great, its so fun to have him with me there. But the damndest thing happened. Some woman was walking with her son, i'd say about 7-10 years of age and he was not listening to her and was running off and throwing trash into the water. Well I was gettin close and she saw me and yelled at the boy, "Look the big bad dog is coming, he's mean and is goin to bite you!!!" i assume she'd think i thought it was funny. Well he comes back and tries to kick boozer, and she was like "he's a mean dog and will bite you if you dont listen to me!!!" and he was yelling "ugly dog, mean dog". I was furious. I said "Excuse me mam, but my dog is just a 5 month old puppy and he is not mean and he would never bite for the life of him, dont tell your son that." She said she was only saying that to scare him. I replied "Well that is not the way, its sad that you have to teach your son that dogs are mean and they will bite, its just wrong and rude." She said my dog was a filthy animal, and i said "from the looks of it, my dog is cleaner than you and your son, and my dog actually respects me as his mother and listens to me the first time." With her son still throwing rocks and trash at the ducks, I walked off with mine and boozers head held high. Its just sad how some mothers are these days... and this is why we have so many children abusing dogs and animals nowadays.

Ugh. I can't figure out how some people can be so stupid around dogs.

I know someone that had a CO puppy (about 4 months old at the time) that was walking him one day.
One of this neighbors was exiting his house with his young daughter (not sure of her age.) The little girl ran up behind the dog and swept him up, arms under his stomach, from behind. Of course the pup, being suprised, reacted and struggled to get free. Luckily she DROPPED him on the sidewalk before she got scratched by one of those sharp little puppy teeth. The Dad started yelling at him to control his dog (which at this point was sitting right nect to him, calm.) He replied back that he needed to control his daughter and keep her on a leash. :D

That's just STOOOOPID! I've noticed, too, how parents with issues about dogs pass it along to their kids. It's so sad that there are people who will never know the joy of sharing their life with a doggie.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE that you said that to that awful women and stood up for yourself and your dog. I'm the type of person that, when on the spot, can never think of any good comebacks. They always pop into my head later, when it's too late.

GOOD FOR YOU!

Glad you gave it to her. I would have thrown in a few words that I can't post on this web site for good measure............
