You're not going to England anymore?

I honestly have no idea. I HATE Toronto lol. But that may just be because I don't like huge cities and it's really the only one
i've been in but I hate it whenever I am there.

England is a back-up plan at this point. I love the idea, I love London... but the job itself gives me reservations and frankly, being that far away from my family (realistically I'd be able to visit at most once a year with my work load) is a little too much.

Right now the top contenders are..
- Toronto
- San Fran
- Austin

As for city size, bigger the better. I HATE the country, suburbs and small towns with equal amounts of vigor.

Toronto reservations at this point are really just freezing my butt off.

Austin I just worry about it being Texas and you know...Texas.......
(I can say that because I'm from Florida and am equally as cynical about it lol)

and San Fran is just getting a lay of the land and finding a place to live and commuting within the budget.

Austin is the random liberal city in Texas. It's totally different than the rest of the state.
:D WOO!

This is so mentally taxing like the city I choose could set the stage for my whole life! AH! Currently reading up on Austin living expenses and public transport.

and WARMTH!! WOO!!!

Austin is awesome...so not like the rest of Texas. It is on my short list of cities I would consider moving to except for it does stay hot for a lot longer than I like (I am a seasons girl and like some winter. But the city itself is just awesome, we visit ILs usually once a year and DH went to school there)

Houston and Dallas - ick

San Fran I am sure would be awesome but yeah, its san fran and whoa cost of living.

Toronto would also be super awesome.

Atlanta, because Charliedog lives there ;) And clearly they don't get snow often.

If you go San Fran, be prepared to run into a LOT of very poorly trained "service dogs," more than most places, because legally ESAs are the same as SDs there.

I visited Atlanta and thought it was very nice. Clean city (what I saw of it), nice people, and I'm pretty sure it's supposed to be pretty cheap real estate especially a little outside of the city itself.

I lived an hour north of Houston (was born in Houston) for over half my life, but as far as the actual city goes, I'm not sure. It's supposedly not the greatest.

Toronto sounds really cool to me. Never been, but would love to visit.

San Francisco is somewhere I would definitely live if I had the money. It's supposed to be really nice.

Based on the limited knowledge of those I have now, I'd personally probably pick Toronto, but suggest Austin to most people. Austin is on all of the lists I've seen of upcoming great cities to live in.

San Fran or Toronto... I haven't been to San Fran, but I would love to go! I have friends there and they just love it. Hello Diversity!

I've visited Toronto and loved it.

I personally wouldn't want to live in Texas... I do like North Carolina, but I've only lived in Eastern Carolina. I know it's beautiful in the mountains, but I know it's not "in" the mountains. I've only flown out of Charlotte once.

I heard Atlanta is a pretty town, but I don't know if I'd want to live there.... How long is the fellowship? Will you be paid?

Is it a paid position? And abouts how much?

Rents in the Bay Area and especially San Francisco are pretty crazy right now. If you want, I can pull some ads for you!

It also isn't actually warm in the city. Warm compared to Canada, for sure. But it is a big deal if it is over 70 degrees. But you can head across the bay to Berkeley or Oakland and it is much warmer.

I have some colleagues in Austin and it sounds like a lot of fun.

God San Fran's weather seems like it would be my PERFECT weather. I love 60's and 70's. Does it ever get much colder than, say, 40 ish? Because if not, that would be my perfect climate LOL.

For you, Fran, I picture you in either San Fran or Toronto.

Toronto has pretty much the same climate as Boston. So don't get too caught up in the everyone there must live in igloos/travel by dog sled/play hockey ALL the time/etc! Warm in the summer, cold in the winter. If it were me though I would pick San Fran.

San Francisco is amazing; I've loved the time I've spent there. It is expensive, but it's really beautiful and there's tons to do.

I got to spend a week in Austin this winter, and I LOVED it, but we were down on Sixth Street, so I didn't see much of the 'day to day' areas of the city. It was fun, though, and I liked almost everyone I met. My boyfriend was a little skeptical about visiting Texas for that long, because the couple times he's been there he has had some issues with racists, but he didn't encounter any of that in Austin. The live music was great.

Any of the Texas cities... but I can't really picture Fran in Texas TBH.

Charlotte would be my next pick.

Atlanta is... cray-cray. I wouldn't want to live there.

I wouldn't do San Fran. Midwestern girl will never live in California. Nope.
