I realize that this is slightly morbid, but...

A lady at work yesterday asked me if my house was on fire, and I could only save one dog, who would I choose?

My first answer was both. But then I thought about it, and realized that I'd choose Flicka. She's stronger, she's healthier, and she'd survive without Pepe, wheras he would probably have a heart attack without his big sister around.

I'm not choosing one over the other here. I love them both equally. I just would want to make sure that the one I chose to survive would actually survive. Flicka would, she's a survivor. Pepe wouldn't.

So, here's the question:

If your home was on fire, and you could only save one of your dogs, who would you choose, and why?

Morbid, indeed!

I would die saving my pets before I had to chose to only save one.

However, after some thinking... all I would have to tell Buddy is out and he would know to get out. Bella is following in big brother #1's footsteps as far as smarts go. The only one that would need help to get out would be Banzai, my precious-not-too-smart-blue-eyed-beauty. ;)

Since all three are habitually right beside me and are lower to the ground it would be more a question of how quickly would THEY get ME out ;)

Seriously, Bimmer's already woken me up and alerted me once to an electrical fire ABOUT to happen.

But if I am reallly having to answer the question as simple as if i could only save one which would i choose. I would see myself only having two options: die trying to get both, or pick one and live. I think in this case i would risk it and save both, i really wouldnt be able to pick. One would be a puppy i chose to take care of..only to let his short life be ended abruptly because of me..or my loyal 3 year old who i have shared many memories with already.. i wouldnt be able to choose.

I dunno. Cats tend to hide in fires though. I do fire drills, I think I mentioned that. It's kind of fun to see them hauling butts downstairs for pieces of chicken. Naturally, Tosca caught right on. She always catches on when there's food involved.

Well, logically, I'd grab Ripley. Dakota can open doors and let himself out, and he would drag Eve along if I told him to.

Funny!

Apache is outside most of the time (her decision) but, really, she's quick and on her toes most of the time... she'd be the first one out and telling the rest of us it's been nice! :lol-sign:

My dogs are usually in the same room as I am--it's rare that they are somewhere else. So I could easily say I would take them both--but my first priority would be my children.

To answer the question, I'd most likely die trying to save both them and the bunny.

However, the reality of the situation has us all making it out just fine. :D
Tamlyn and Cissy are always by my side and will obey me to the last word if I tell them to run out. I would only have to grab the bun-bun and run out behind them. The only trouble would be if I started thinking about what all would be lost if I were to leave it. Then they'd have to drag ME out! :lol-sign:

the idea of my dogs being trapped in a fire scares me beyond belief. mostly because i crate when i'm not home, so they'd have zero chance :(

if i were home, luce is smart enough that she'd probably manage to get out on her own. the only one i would worry about not being able to get out is harv.

Honestly, if it was in the middle of the night, Lizzie has started sleeping with my brother on the other side of the house (( but anyway.. )) so she would be the first I would go for, grab her, then I would come back down and get Major. That's if one of my parent's don't already have him.

But it is was during the day she would be right beside me...and wouldn't leave my side probably. So I would leash her then grab Major's collar.

I could never leave one behind though. And I have thought about it way too much..I could never leave any one behind :(
