Forever? I dunno tbh.

Maggie was my first thought, but would she have been ok with living with kids? I wouldn't want her to be stressed for 18+ years!

Kestrel and Aeri were tied for second, but i don't think I could handle them in *my* old age. :\

So, I dunno.

My heart dog Mitchell. The best dog I've ever met, we meshed perfectly.
He was goofy, loyal, fun, and chill. If I ever find another dog like him, I will snatch them up without a second thought.

Easy question (only children hollah!)

Not because he's perfect...but because he's good.
He tries, he loves, he's gentle...even if he isn't the most well trained and needs more exercise than I sometimes want to deal with

He's a good boy. He's confident, he can travel and go places and loves all people and that is the crux of it for me.

plus he cuddles

Minus the cuddles.

I feel that way about Jackson being 6. It just... sounds so much older than 3 and 4. And he's not allowed to get older, so there's that.
Yes! This is how I feel about Juno. I pulled her up in the computer at work last week and it says something like "5 years 8 months" and I was just like.... what. That's almost 6. And that for some reason just feels like we're entering the senior stage.

I'm going to break the rules and pick three.

My first dog Nala. She was super smart and basically trained herself. No DA or other issues. She loved to sit next to me on the couch when I was a kid. Plus she never needed a leash, she was stuck to me like glue.

Chevy (before she fell apart). She was one of those "Boy and his Dog" type of dogs. She would run alongside my bike, retrieve objects from a nearby pond and follow me everywhere.

Deputy, If I could bring his mind back I would. I miss the way he used to be, before his disease started.

This makes me feel like a raving bitch, but neither. Gambit is my heart and soul, but his temperment is lousy. He's high stress all the time, and I don't know if it would be kind to keep him forever. I love Gimmick, but not in a heart dog sort of way. Maybeone day I'll have those feelings for him but not yet.

Pip will be 10 in the spring. Now entering the danger zone. :(

I have a weird feeling he will make it well into his teens, though.

Any time I think about the fact that Rowan is 8 1/2, I want to cry. I try not to think about it. I'm hoping he makes it into his teens, too.

THIS IS A HORRIBLE QUESTION!!

(LOL I joke. But really though.. bawls over both my dogs.)

I'd choose Rara. She's so intelligent. Her mind is very unique, and I don't think I will ever have or even encounter another dog in my life as deeply intelligent, observant, and human-like as Rara for the rest of my life. Just imagining the extent of which she'll understand human language and math and the universe after living for 20 years or so, I'll probably need to turn back into a caveman to make room for her. LOL.

Her level of intelligence is as eerie as I make it sound, yes. I think she might be an alien of superior race from outer space come to spy on us dumb humans.

Lancer is a typical Aussie. Sensitive, yeah, learns tricks/commands super fast, hard-working, driven, and I'd say an all-around also very smart dog. But he's still clearly just a dog when placed next to Rara.

This is a really difficult question. I love all of my dogs for different reasons, and I can't really picture life especially without Dance or Journey.

That said, Journ is my world. I've never enjoyed a dog more in so many ways, and she's just been mine since day one. She's so special to me. Even on the days that she's insane and embarrasses me haha. I'd be happy to never have another dog if I could just have Journey forever.

Crystal is the only dog in this house right now so... she's the obvious answer :) But I know what you guys are saying about age. Crystal turned 5 this year, which isn't old at all, but it has gone by so fast, I know she'll be an elderly dog in a blink of the eye.

If it were soley for not breaking my husband's heart it would be Harlow.

For me, it is Tuls. All the way Tuls.

However, when we do get cattle if she wasn't gutsy enough I would need another ACD along with her.

Uhhh, truthfully?... not Finnegan. :rofl1: Yes he's my only dog, and yes obviously I love him to death and the day he kicks it will be one of the saddest days of my life. But I couldn't deal with this poor dog for the rest of my life.

If Fozzy had lived forever (childhood dog) he would have been a good one. Easiest dog ever. Betwen all four of our pets right now, I'd probably choose Stan cat. He's an old soul.

Don't suppose we can choose past dogs, bring them back to life? Would choose my 2nd male Chow...best darn dog I ever had. Close second would be Knarly...I'm still in denial that he'll ever pass.

Cobain hands down.
I would trust this dog with my life. He's so intelligent and in-tune with me. I can take him anywhere without having to worry and I can predict his behaviour in almost any situation. He's everything I need/want in a dog.
Yes, he's a jerk, but he's MY jerk.
