My Mom and I were out for a while today. One of the places we went was to PetSmart, to get a tag for Mayberry's collar. There happens to be a bargain bookstore right next to 'Smart, so of course we had to go there. When we came out of the bookstore, and went to our car, we heard lots of barking. One space next to us was a parked car with two small dogs in it - a whippet and a bichon frise. This is in humid ninety-degree weather, windows half-way open.
Annoyed, I grabbed a piece of paper and wrote, "This is a petstore, your dogs can go inside - don't let them overheat!" folded it, and placed it on the windshield and then we headed off. We turned around when we saw a tall man coming out of the store, wondering if he was the owner of the dogs. When we arrived back at the space, the car, dogs and man were gone.
I just hope that idiot read my note and will start acting responsibly. You don't leave your pet outside in a car when it's burning hot weather. And you can bring your dog into PetSmart. After all, it's called PetSmart for a reason. If you don't want to bring your dog into a store, or can't bring him into the store, leave him at home. Sitting in a hot car panting is not fun for anyone.
Rant over!
