Chi's average out at about 6-9 inches tall (at shoulder) and weigh between 2-6 pounds, so I'm guessing not. Unless it's mixed with something, then it's anyone's guess.

A note though: They are not very good with children and can be quite snappy if not properly socialized.

Wow, cool. Thanks for all the information, guys!

I will keep in mind the children comment. Although, that's 20 years from now :)

It looks like a mix to me, a chihuahua/beagle mix. If it's pure then it's a chihuahua

Actually, there could be a Chihuahua with some Terrier mixed in that little pup. Those are awfully sturdy legs for a pure Chi.
If there is terrier in him, what type? I'm pretty sure it's a beagle that's in him, but I'm usually wrong with this stuff, lol

One of the main reasons chihuahuas and kids do not mix is that because of their small size, a chi could be easily killed by a small child.

My guess would be a Rattie or a Jack/Parsons. They have the same markings and a very similar look as puppies, plus they are very commonly found now.

I had the same thought but I didn't know if it was the camara angle or what. And it's rare for those markings isn't it? I know there are tri-colors and partis are accepted but not terribly common.

Thank you for clearing that up gaddy. Chihuahuas are excellent with children, especially if around them from puppyhood. They just aren't really the best dog to be around babies/toddlers because the children tend to be so curious and may pull the tail, the ears, or the legs and hit the dog. Chis like to act like they are macho little doggies, but they really aren't and have to be supervised to make sure they don't get into anything to risky.
I agree with you Renee, that face looks almost identical to Roxy Mae, but that leg is so stocky. Excellent looking pup though.

Roxy is tri-color. Same exact colors, but not that same pattern.
