At 4:21 in the morning I woke up to Nanook growling in the living room. I lay still for a moment because our apartment is on the main floor right next to the driveway. She frequently growls at people/pets that get too close to our apartment.

But she was not calming down. She was getting louder and started jumping at the patio door. I sat straight up in bed which made Steve bolt up and go running for the living room. He came back while I was still fumbling for my glasses and said...

any guesses what it was?

Oh Giny you got it but there were two of them. Huge ones! I have a few pics coming in a minute.

We were so surprised! And they were so cheeky. Nanook has her food out on the balcony in a rubbermaid bin because Fiona gets to it otherwise and they were lifting the lid and sticking their hand in and stealing it. Chubby little swipers :rofl1:

Well not mine! We are in an apartment complex so they might be in the dumpsters lol. Some of our neighbours feed the local cats outside so I'm not surprised they are so chubby. And really cheeky. They saw us and didn't even care!

Those things are clever little devils!

I was camping once, and we had our cooler outside our tent, and one came and started stealing our food. So we scared it off by yelling at it, then took the cooler inside the tent, zipped it up and went back to bed. Well, would you believe it, the next time I woke up the darn thing was IN THE TENT :yikes: a foot away from my face steeling our food again. Scared the bagesus out of me!!!!

Yup, it unzipped the tent, unlatched the cooler, opened the lid, and helped itself to our food lol. Since this was at a camp site, I'm sure it had plenty of experience with coolers though!

we had them at our camp site every year but we would actually put food out for them. But yes some would still open are coolers anyway so we finally invested in the ones that latch shut.

You should have seen Nanook's face. She was so upsetting they were stealing from her :rofl1: When we brought her food in she followed it all the way to the back room where it's now locked up lol. And then the raccoons came back and peaked over the railing before hopping up to see what had happened to their food source. :rofl1: So funny

I am having that problem every single night now. IT is exhausting me. I wish the raccoons would bother someone else. I think they are out there eating the wild strawberries that are lush in my yard. Pepper would give anything if i would just open the door .Nice pics...Way to go Nanook.
