Need suggestions for anyone who's having a sale! My poor dogs are living in toy poverty and I need to buy them some things to chew and tug on ASAP, before I spend my paycheck on dumb stuff like food.

A good portion of Caleb's toys are just kids stuffed animals. I got them at yard sales, the toy department in WalMart, etc and the staff lounge at work.

I thought I had read somewhere about the stuffing they use in regular kid stuffed animals being toxic to dogs. Unless it was one particular stuffed animal.

This time of year (around here anyway) mom's are cleaning out kids rooms while their at school before the holiday "new toy influx" occurs and popping some good stuff into rummage sales, look around for basket balls, soccer balls, those things are great finds for Fido! Also, boxes, just plain old big card board boxes, so much fun can be had for cheap! We get them for free at Sams club for the obnoxious Conure.

I read about that a couple years ago too, and you know I don't fully believe it. Jinjo destroyed so many old kids stuffed toys he probably would have been long dead by now, although on the contrary he never ingested the fluff. As well, I also had given Enda this massive stuffed cat to sleep with when she was a puppy (to fill out her massive kennel I put her in at night so she wouldn't have a "potty corner" just in case), and after I eventually removed it from her kennel, in came Noodle, and he immediately took to the toy, "de-fluffed" it, and promptly eat a good portion of the stuffing before I noticed and removed it, he's still here just fine too, the fluff comes out the same as it looked going in. So, I really don't know how much I personally believe this, Enda still sleeps with her Pika pillow, you would think if the fluff turns to some kind of goo in their stomach it would be trashed in the wash, Pika's been washed and run through the dryer more times than I can remember now, even used a vinegar rinse on him.

Jeffer's toys are dirt cheap. They don't last insanely long, but, how can you say no to a $4 fleece tug? (atleast that's what I paid last time)

I've also found I love Kong Tugga Wubba's for tugging/playing. I think they're under $8 on Amazon (and free two day shipping if you have Prime).

I read it, too. From what I remember is it's only if the stuffing is ingested. Not a problem here- Caleb carrys his toys around and snuggles with them. We call his huge rabbit his portable pillow he carries it from room to room and puts his head on it.

$4 a Tug :yikes: Heck not here, go to Wal-mart, get fleece at $3-$5 a yard, make 3-5 tugs per Yard (also, sign up to Joann fabrics on Facebook or by email, even snail mail, and get monthly coupons for 15-20% off you total order, or up to 40-50% a single item). Can't believe I forgot about that one and didn't post it earlier. Oh heck! This one cost me less than $4 to make (ball was .99 cents at TJ Maxx):

And that leads me to something else, TJ Maxx!!! You should go, no really, I find all kinds of AWESOME dog stuff there for half off or less! Also got the larger Gus ball, retail at Target $9, TJM $4.
