So, hubby & I had a few friends up over the weekend for St Paddy's Day. His best bud was here Wednesday to Sunday, and our other friends got here Thursday to Sunday. We enjoy visitors, but do you ever get to that point when everyone is gone and it just feels nice to have that privacy/alone time? Well, our afternoon was like that, then my girlfriend text me saying her husband was in a bind but was afraid to bother us. They're stationed in Louisiana and the chemical unit there is transferring over here. Well, he didn't have anywhere to stay and the cheapest hotel he could find was $90. So with Brian and I being the softies that we are, we offered for him to stay with us until he found a place. *sigh* lol

He's a good guy and I know they would do the same for us if we ever needed it. But I'd like to have my house back lol

However, we didn't realize he was bringing his cat with him. Tiki and Lugar are both good with new animals, but his kitty isn't neutered and a brat. He picks on Tiki. Tiki will play a little bit, but if he feels too over whelmed he hisses and hides. But Tyberious doesn't know when to quit sometimes so I have to close him off in the spare room. Not to mention, he was being a little territorial yesterday and I'm afraid he is going to start spraying. The biggest down side is that I didn't realize how awful intact-male cat urine smells.... he uses the box and the ammonia is horribly strong. I actually had to completely dump out Tiki's box and change the litter because it was lingering.

He's hoping to be out by tomorrow, as he's been looking at quite a few places, but could possibly be the end of the week. He's offered to give us money, but we don't want it... but he's insisting he do something for us so he's going to make us dinner tonight which I think is a nicer gesture.

Sorry, just had to kinda-sorta vent a little bit. LOL

I TOTALLY understand. I'm kind of a private person as it is, and I so enjoy when guests leave. It was the worst when my little brother died. Of course when someone dies, especially so young (he was 5), everyone wants to help and do something. Which was great. But I honestly felt like we didn't even have a chance to grieve for the first month because people were ALWAYS around. Our house was crowded with people, half of whom I didn't even know, and it was just so terrible. I was incredibly ready for everyone to leave. I know, a lot more morbid, and a different situation, but yeah.

I also love having friends from out of town come and visit but I agree, after a few days... I'm usually ready for them to leave, lol. And I'm not trying to be rude. I enjoy their company, etc. But I really like my own little schedule I have. It also takes away my time with Jackson, LOL... so he's always quite ready for them to go too.

I understand where you're coming from about your brother. During that time you kinda want to have time to grieve, & with close immediate family. My mom passed away 2 1/2 years ago and thankfully everyone was pretty respectful in allowing us our own time. People would only come if we asked.

Haha, I have only been around this guy once before (when they graduated basic training)... but I didn't realize how much he likes to talk. LOL I don't mind chatting but it's hard for me to drum up conversation that I don't know too well. I'm pretty shy when it comes to being around new people. I guess I have to absorb what they're like first.

But yeah my routine is out of whack, and I'm trying to make sure Tiki isn't getting stressed out with this other cat here. They seem to be getting along a little better today than yesterday, but Tyberious enjoys aggravating him.

Lugar I think could care less LOL He's so focused on me & hub, he doesn't care too much about our guests.... unless they decide to scratch his butt or play with him. LOL
