Keep your fingers crossed or pray or whatever it is you do. She's gorgeous. I found two puppies on petfinder. They're littermates. The male is a blue merle according the picture and the female is a black and white. They're purebred Australian Shepherds. The breeder gave up the mother to a border collie rescue when she was still pregnant with the pups. I contacted the lady fostering the pups and she sent me an application and I filled it out. She said I sound just like the person she's been looking for to take little Ruby home. She said she'd be perfect for agility. She's learned stuff so much faster then the other puppies and she's really focused. She just needs to check out my references and I need to get the official OK from my landlord. My landlord lives in the house with me, but I basically rent out the basement apartment. She knows I've been looking for a dog, but hasn't officially said yes or no. I'm going to offer to pay a pet deposit as well. I didn't pay a pet deposit for Goober, but if I'm going to add another animal into the house I think I should give my landlord something.

So tell me what you think of her... She's definitely my Petfinder puppy of the day

I don't have any more pictures yet. I'm going to ask her to email me some more pictures of her. I really hope this works out. The biggest thing is going to be getting my landlord's approval. I'm not sure if it will be easier to just ask her bluntly in person or write a letter explaining all my reasonings. It will be so good for Goober to have a companion and he loves dogs. I really want to be able to do agility and devote time to training a dog, etc etc before I decide to have kids, etc etc. Her brother is really cute too. She's a lot plainer in color when compared to him... but something about her eyes and expression... captures you.

Hemena...hueruoi...I WANT I WANT I WANT!!!!

What a jackass breeder though. "kept the dad and turned the pregnant mom over to the shetler". Obviously someone with their head up somewhere dark and unpleasant.

I hope you get her!

HAHA I agree... Another thing... the mother was advertized for adoption from the rescue. She's only 20 months old. She had to be even younger when she was bred... sounds like this breeder bred her a little young too. It's really sad. I really hope that everything works out and I can give this pup a great opportunity.

ooooooosoooooooooocuuuuuuute!! I hope it works out for you. Is your landlord someone who needs time to think things over? if so, you may want to write the letter.

What an adorable puppy!!
About the landlord, mine told us absolutely no dogs when we moved in about 1 1/2 years ago. I went over and had a talk with him about safety. I told him my hubby works nights (which is true) and I'm home at night by myself with the kids and would like to have a little protection and he agreed.
I'm not sure if you can use that for an excuse but I would give anything a try LOL. Good luck and hope you get the puppy!!

Alrighty, the lady wrote me back and said she really wants me to have this puppy. So here goes... I'm going to bring it up to my landlord. If it all works out then I'll have her after the holidays since I'd like to wait until after the big Christmas ambush running around from family's house to family's house so that I can spend more time focused on her.

I found a pet agreement form online that I plan on showing her. That way she can feel more comfortable knowing that if the puppy does any damage she can hold me liable. She OKd me having Goober and I talk all the time about dog stuff. She loved Smkie's dog bowls when I showed her and I've talked about how my Grandma is giving me her crate for when I get my dog. She has to know this big question is coming. And... she knows how badly I want to get back into agility as well when the pup is older. So, we'll see how it goes. I'm going to include a picture of her in the letter or if I talk to her face to face then I'm going to show her a picture when we talk about it. The letter sounds like it would be a good way for me to get out all my points across without her interrupting and not giving me a chance to explain why I want a dog. However, at the same time I wonder if a letter might upset her because I'm not being upfront with her and trying to beat around a bush without asking her person to person. So... I'm straddling a fence here. Plus, Goober really really needs a companion aside from just me. He's too social not to. He loves other dogs and cats, but my landlord wont let him go upstairs often to play with their animals. I think she worries because he's young and because I refuse to declaw him. I keep his nails trimmed back, but I'm completely against declawing. Her pug is partially blind and they don't want him accidentally hurting her. Problem is that upsets him because he likes to play with them. I'd like to get a dog now while he's still young that he can grow up with and bond with. A dog would just be really good for both of us honestly. Cheyanne stayed with my mom when I moved out because my step dad is in Iraq and she wanted Cheyanne to stay with her so she's not quite as alone. So... I've been without a dog of my own for over 2 years and it's seriously driving me insane. Chaz is my only source of sanity at this point, lol. Hearing about your dogs helps me so much and keeps me connected to the dog world. Anyways... I might not be able to talk to the landlord tonight because I have a Christmas party. If I can talk to her I will though. If not then for sure tomorrow night. I'm just so insanely nervous to bring it up that I feel like I'm having an anxiety attack and feeling sick to my stomach. I really want this to work out.

maybe write it all out, bring it with you when you go to talk to her. That way you can leave it with her after you talk.
