THings that come so easily for me are so hard to explain to someone that it does not come easily. I tried to explain about drawing a box, and why it is important and how it relates to drawing other things and that is why you start with a box. The result.....she calls it 3-d victor/the neck is certainly long enough.

baby steps

just for fun..emergency room doodle

I had a magna doodle! Except my sister and I ruined it by accidentally stepping or sitting on it too many times :(

Looks like Hyia's making progress :)

magnadoodle is my coffee table book. THere's an etcher sketch too if you prefer. oh and under the table in a box for when Jory comes over next is an old set of ,,geez I cant;' even remember what you call themm,,these. I showed my MOther what I got for Jory and she started making a toy. Had some pretty good movement too by the time she was done.

There is a set of lincoln logs too. I missed a bag at the thrift store, another woman got there first that almost made me cry. It was HUGE.

I love Tinker Toys! Those were one of the only toys we had growing up, and they were the best.

As for the drawing, good job! I still have trouble seeing boxes in other things, and I'm not able to draw a dogs body using ovals and squares to start

SHe's working on it. I have told her this over and over and it never sunk in until maybe Now! i am almost excited. SHe really wants to draw well. THe first time I had her try drawing the box she made it with wings. ..the sides not even connected. It looked like it could take off. But now there is progress there too. I showed her this morning on dear magnadoodle which is not near as intimidating as a piece of paper how the spine is a sweep,,I asked her where it joined, she pointed to the back of her head. I said exactly. It is the line that flows all your action. Showed her that it finishes on a dog with the tail and that is how you position that right. She had the tail coming out the anus. So maybe that is how our art lessons need to be. Incredibly short tiny bites of the whole. We discussed crooked as a dog's hind leg too. THat only elephants have knees that point forward on all four legs. I hope she continues, I have sooooooooooo much to give and no one here that is interested.
