when i worked at the doggy day care we had a little pool and ruby loved it...
so i think later today im going to go buy them a little kiddy pool from walmart for them to play in...
i know its not summer yet...but at 85 degees today its starting to feel like it lol

were also planning on getting geese as soon as the coops finnished and the baby chickens can go outside (dont have space for 2 brooders lol) so itll serve double duty :D

I just bought one for my two, and I hope it goes over better than it did with my other dogs. I had a Lab/dobe mix* who was just a swimmin' fool, so I expected him to love sloshing around, but no, he would NOT go near it. When I finally made him get in, he had the most martyred look and flung himself out as soon as I let him! Any suggestions for introducing Monday and Katie Mae to the pool, or should I just fill 'er up and point them in the right direction?

* Best dog EVER!

with ruby we just had it out in the yard at day care, it started that shed just look at it, then one day she decided to get her feet wet and dipped one paw in then lifted it up watching the water drip off (this still seems to be one of her favorite summer time activities lol)
then she finally got 2 feet in and eventually must have figured if 2 feet are wet might as well add the other 2.

but its been awhile so im hoping she remembers and shell hopefully encorage jasper.

I was thinking about putting it out dry and tossing a few treats into it now and then, until they considered it A Good Thing. Then putting in a couple of inches of water, and if that goes well, go from there.

Maybe I could tie some treats to strings and dangle them from a tree limb so they have to step into the water to get the chicken or whatever. Or maybe they'll love it from the get-go.

lol definatly creative, i like the idea of doing it dry first...

i got ours!
next time ill get pictues i promise.
its 88 degrees right now!
so i set up the little pool...

vixies responce was somehting along the lines of "mah...why is there a bath in the middle of the garden."
dodger was more akin to "please dont put me in there"
rosie "if i stay WAY over here mabe she wont put me in that thing.

Ruby however whent for a splash, she was more interested in playing "kill the rock" however when she found a good one next to the pool...
its a fun game where she finds a nice sized smooth stone and throws it around the garden chasing, stalking and pouncing on it...

a box full of toys and she plays with rocks...

Jasper however, the one i thought would be most eserved to it was very interested at first, he scrathed at the sides but wasnt quite brave enough, so me being the mean nekkid mommy that i am...put him in.
oh my goodness. he starts jumping around and digging at the bottom...then he figured out how to splash and made a game of making a splash with his paw and trying to bite the water that splashed up...he then combined the splash game with bite the water and dig in the dirt pile, followed imediatly by "jump on the mommy lady" which was then followed by a run around the garden and repeated. im COVERED in little muddy paw prints lol, he had a blast, came in i whiped off his muddy feet then he zoomed around the livingroom untill he quite literally pass out...

no realy mid zoom he stops at charlies bed and flops onto his side, hes now out cold.

pictures next time...i promise!

Kya LOVES hers. I'll set it up again tomorrow now that it's warmer again.

I hope she'll get River to enjoy it. Chloe despises it. Lol

Harleigh LOVES her kiddie pool, but now that she's older she prefers big bodies of water.. like rivers, lakes, pools and especially Springs (which is good because we have an abundance of them here!:D).

It was 97 here today:p

That reminds me to get another kiddie pool. Neither of them are crazy about water but they do appreciate cooling down in one.

The last one died when my neighbor's huge dog came over and just pulverized it.
