Hey everyone,

Wow... yup I survived yet again another tornado!!!

I had gone to my other aunts house that needed me to watch her little dog for her, mom dropped me off to potty/feed her while my mom went to Chicken Express to get some drinks. I had taken care of the dog, was waiting for mom to get back so I looked outside and noticed the sky turning darker. So I turned on the news, and just as it said Haltom City under tornado warning.. there go the sirens. So I try to stay calm, I've been thru too many Tornados to count, but being alone w/o my mom I'll admit, I freaked. Then came the hail. We saved some of it in the freezer, we got about golfball size. Mom finally makes it back to me, they had made her take cover inside the Chicken Express. We get in the car , head home, and thats when we see the mighty Tornado-beast. See it pick up a car, throw it to the other side of the highway, grab a highway sign and toss it just like paper. We finally make it back to our house after turning around and going back to my aunts house to take cover. Come to find out the area we were in got hit the worst. Totally demolished homes and buildings.

*sigh*

Yea thats one thing about Tornados, you have NO warning. Maybe mintues. Maybe seconds. But once you hear those sirens, you better get somewhere safe. Of course with the sirens blaring, what did I do? I stood outside in the driveway and watched for it HAHA

HAHA guys.

I promise I went in after it started raining. Then hailing. Hail was pretty bad, and of all things, our car didnt get one hit of hail, while my aunts suburban that she wants to trade in got smashed to bits with hail damage.

Its quiet here now... theres always that "calm after the storm"

Glad you're ok!
I've never seen a tornado (good thing I suppose) In the 9 years that I lived in Rhode Island we had one tornado warning. Nothing ever came.

I am a dog breeder in Kansas. Needless to say tornados are a part of our life. We built a dog door and ramp down the wall into the basement. That is how we move our dogs into the basement whenever there is a tornado warning. But the bad part is that time times I have done it by the time I get them all into the basement the warning if over and I am worn out, the dogs are all upset and everything is a mess. My husband worries that someday I'll be busy getting the dogs into the basement and be outside when the tornado hits. But what can you do...I can't stand the thought of just leaving them unprotected. It is a big worry around here.

I've never been through one and don't ever want to be in one. I'm so glad you're safe and sound. What an experience to go through.
