I'm so sorry Jess. :( I'm definitely sending good vibes your way. Take it from someone who's dogs are escape artists. They can always get out! I hope he's just taking himself on a little vacation and will be home soon. (((hugs)))

You are in my thoughts and prayers. This is just terrible. Are there many kids playing in your neighborhood? I ask because the little girl that lives across the street from me loves dogs and she opens gates and brings the dogs out to play with her. But when she's done playing she doesn't put them back (not that she should take them out to begin with) and they just wander around until someone sees them and takes them home. We've had to put locks on all our gates.

Your doing all you can, just keep checking the local shelters and vets. God bless

ZyZy Update

Still no word yet.

I live about 45 minutes from Jess, so I called all my local shelters and vets to see if anyone brought him in. I also faxed the HS and some of the vets (the one's who have a fax machine) his picture. They all said they will keep an eye out, and call either Jess or me (I live closer, so they won't have to call long distance) if they see anyone bring him in.

We are hoping to find him soon... if anyone lives in the NC area, please help us find Zy!!

Oh, and Jess, spend some time talking to the people at the shelters and the vets offices. They're a lot more likely to pay attention and to help find him (especially if a client comes in with him in tow) if you've made contact with them as a real, live human being with tears in your eyes. If you're just a quick, disembodied voice on the other end of the phone it won't matter nearly as much. That's how I found my neighbor's Lab, Chester, the other day when he'd gotten lost at the job site where Herbie is working . . . Herbie'd already been there, but didn't have a conversation with them, so no one told him that a nice lady who did rescue work had called them and told them she had a nice Lab who had wandered into her house. I talked to them, so they told me and even gave me her number to call, even though I wasn't Chester's owner.

This has probably been mentioned but go to the shelters and look for him don't just describe him. You know how shelters are

And maybe take chloe for a walk in areas where he likes to go or you think he might be. She might find him before you do. Or he might hear her. Follow your instincts.

(((hugs)))

OMG. That is so unimaginably scary for you. =( I am so sorry Jess, all I can think of is how distraught I would be if my puppy had gotten out. I'm praying for Zy & you.
