I just said shake and when he raise his paw to you. then say wave very quitly. Thats what I did.

roll over- I grab a treat and put him in a down and pulled the treat over his head and lightly push him on his side and all the way over and said roll over.

I don't know every dog is different and like training book for roll over they say don't touch the dog. That did not work for me so there so many way to teach dog.

I would get mad at him because he use to run all the time when he got out side. then one day I got sick of it, and when he tried to run I said GET DOWN! Thinking he would lay down, he just lay down on his side with his head down and acted like he was dead. So I don't know how I really did it.

I got a book from the library, "Dog Tricks for Dummies," it has a bunch of ideas and how to teach them :D

You can teach the dog to sneeze on cue, act sad, cover his eyes with his paws, cover his ears with his paws, teach him to wag his tail on cue, lots of stuff in that book!

My sister taught her Yorkie a version of play dead that we call BANG! when Levi (the yorkie) sits, we make a gun shape with our hand and shout BANG! Levi will laydown then slowly roll over on his back and lays with all paws in the air. It's a hoot and a great trick to show off!

You could also try:

"back" - back up...go backwards
"touch" or "target" - touch object with nose
"push" - push object with nose (works well after learning "touch")
"shy" (or embarased etc) - put paw over nose and act shy or embarassed
"spin" - Spin in a circle
"sneeze" - sneeze on cue
"whisper" - the speak command, but quietly

Play dead

Your dog needs to know down in order to teach this. Starting with your dog in a laying down position:
-Slowly move a treat past his head so he turns to look at it and follows it with his eyes.
-As your hand (with treat) gets near the back of his head, move it towards his body
-If the dog is following the treat with his eyes and wants to eat it, he should naturally roll on to his back.
-As soon as he is in the "dead" position, TREAT!
