My best friend's baby shower is tomorrow and I made a Winnie the Pooh diaper cake, inspired by eddieq.

What do you guys think? It was my first time. I'm trying to decide which version I like better.

Version 1, with bibs:
Front

Side

Back (that's a bumble bee peaking out)

Side

More... without bib.

The main reason I had the bibs like that is without them, you can see the top of the lotion bottle I used to hold it together. Instead of a dowel rod like eddie used, I taped 2 Aveeno baby lotion bottles together, but I didn't get the height quite right (yay, I rhyme). Maybe I could wrap the top of the lotion bottle with some wrapping paper or something, I dunno.

The Pooh characters will go on a musical mobile for the crib once their done being diaper cake decorations. I spent more than I'm willing to admit to make this thing but I don't care. I like it!

I like it better sans bibs. I don't think that the little bit of bottle poking out is a big deal, since the overall effect is there, and the bottle is hiding behind pooh bear anyway.

I think if you could neatly and tightly roll the bibs up and tie them around the top of the lotion bottle, then it would look neat that way.
But if you cannot do that, I like it without the bibs better. It looks more like a "cake" that way rather than like a mountain of baby stuff.
But it's great either way, really, and it's very clever.:D

and lol radio ;) I am doing a game where I melt some candy bars in some diapers and people guess what candy it is, lol! Guess you wouldn't like that one!

I LOVE the diaper cakes! My favorite version is the one without the bibs. Awesome job!

Oh and I got to say it.

I am not crazy about the idea of wasting candy bars. :D

I am not sure but purposely ruining chocolate at a baby shower may violate some natural laws.:rofl1:

Agree with the crowd, LOL........no bibs hanging out :D

At my sister's baby shower, we made "broaches" with napkins pinned with a little safety pin to look like a diaper. Everyone who entered received one to wear during the shower..... We had everyone take them off and examine them at the end.........One "lucky" broach had a spot of yellow mustard inside (to resemble baby pooh) and that was the "door prize" winner :D (the chocolate tasting idea made me remember the broach thing, LOL)

Haha ohh don't worry... only a tiny bit of the candy bar was used, and the rest was NOT wasted ;-)

Aw that sounds like a cute idea. We made little white booties out of styrofoam cups, you can see 'em here: http://www.creative-baby-shower-ideas.com/baby-bootie-cups.html
They were super cute :D

Also, the diaper cake was a big hit, everyone loved it! And my friend really appreciated the breast pump. She has the gift receipt, too, so if it doesn't work out, she can take it back and get a ton more stuff... or diapers or whatever!
