Are you ready for another brag thread? This time it's about his leash manners.
Morgan and I just went out for a jog this morning. We ran for about 15 minutes. I had jury-rigged a system to hold his leash around my waist, and he did not try to yank on it even once. He trotted just ahead of me, keeping just enough slack in the leash. He didn't try to wander or sniff or stop or chase the bunnies we saw. We just ran together.
He pottied in the appropriate places, without me having to redirect him from the wrong spots. (He is only allowed to poop in our own yard, and then in front of an empty lot about a block away. Of course, I clean up either way, but I prefer that he doesn't use another persons yard.)
He sat and waited at all corners before crossing the street, again without waiting for me to give him a command. While crossing the street, he walked with me at a heel without any fuss. When we arrived back home, he went straight to the front door and sat patiently until I could unlock the bolt and let us both inside.
I am so very pleased with him. Especially considering that a year ago, I was convinced that this dog would NEVER figure out how to even WALK on a leash with good manners, let alone be a jogging partner! I thought that he would be ADD puppy forever and ever. He really has grown up so much.
Good boy, Morgan. Good boy.
