A 200 lb boerboel. It was in the parking lot of a shopping mall/grocery complex that's close by where they have a dance academy, Sylvan learning services etc

She was having a snack just walking towards her mom/family with the dog - they were in perfect harmony and seemed like they understood each other really well. He was huge, extremely calm, yet appropriately protective of her. It just really warmed my heart <3

I had asked her if he was indeed a BB.

Her reply:

*smiles* "Yeah! African mastiff, how'd ya know?"

I just thought the whole thing was too cute lol

Alot bigger than I think boerboels are usually. He might just have been overweight - I didn't want to ask.

Oh yeah - they were the perfect pair. I don't know much about how they are at home or most of the time obviously but it seemed like they had a extremely good relationship =)

I love seeing how opposite creatures live in such harmony. 1 an innocent 10 year old girl, and on the other side, a large, protective, intense dog.

Must have been an awesome sight.

Unless there is a kid out there with a Fila, BRT, or Caucasian Ovcharka Romy lol or a very protective Borzoi - it could probably be quicker on it's feet and more flexible to nab the predator/bad guy than a Boerboel lol

Maybe not a 200lb Boerboe which is not the norm, but you would be surprised how agile a Boerboel can be. They are not your "typical" couch potato mastiff.

But that would be very sweet and cute to see. Whenever I see a Boer I always start having convulsions of excitement. ha ha.

I don't know much about them unfortunately - I wish there were more around here lol. I know they're very protective though and you're right - I couldn't really imagine them as being very agile/flexible (in physical terms) xd.

They are quicker than you'd expect. However, when you start getting to sizes like that in a breed that wasn't meant to be that size you give up some speed and agility. Still . . . he's going to be quicker than any human. Probably about as quick as a large Doberman.
