from one of my past kids. One I didn't particulary like. He heard I was leaving and wanted to wish us luck with everything and say THANK YOU. Wow. I almost cried. I NEVER expected to hear from this kid again. Never ever. But he said he was talking to someone from the agency and heard about us and wanted to make sure he got ahold of us. He's doing GREAT btw, he seems so happy , and according to him he's drug free. Oh happy day! *does the happy dance* I actually had an impact on a kid!!!! :D

so you didnt like him?
lol,you cut right to the chase don't you? :) no not so much. He was so hard to deal with. So incredibly abused there was not much getting through to him. He took all of his neglect issues out on me, since his mom was a deadbeat I guess from now on all women authorities to this guy will be screwed. He also had fetal alcohol syndrome which made it VERY difficult to make him understand things. It wasn't so much that I didn't like him come to think of it, I just didn't like that I wasn't told the kid was this way before he came to the house, and I had no special training to deal with him even though both me and my caseworker sort of think I should have. But he's doing well now so I'm glad for him. I don't think he ever KNEW I wasn't fond of him. I did try to be a friend to him when he needed it. It was just, like with many of these kids, very hard.

Aww good for you Sunny see you really are changing lives and like you said making am impact. Your boys now might not see it but in the future I think they will be thankful they had you. It might take some longer then others to realize that but eventually they will. Im very happy for you :)

great news! yeah once someone gets out of that haze of drugs and abuse they can see and rationalize a lot more clearly. then they get to go back and thank the people that were there for them when no one else was.

That's wonderful, you deserve a good pat on the back (and tons more) for what you do for those kids. Glad you finally got a lil reward.
