First off hello to everybody, im new here!
Well yesterday we where going to a bunch of yard sales and stuff, and well this one had two free puppies. We fell in love with them and had to take em! The person I got them from rescued them from a guy who was beating them and starving them. He only had them for 2 weeks, and said they are 2-3 mths old. He said the brown one is a full pit bull, and the white one is Half pitbull/half hound. but to me they look like there from the same litter, and they dont look that much differnt, altough the brown one does have bigger jaws. what do you think??
They are doing pretty good, and are warming up to us good. the brown one is alittle shy/ skittish, and also pretty skinny, I fill so bad for her, I dont understand how people can be so cruel. the white one is very friendly, and is fattening up pretty good :)

Make sure you take them to the vet. They probably don't have shots and one pic looks like they might have wormy bellies. The mostly white one looke like a jack russell. They are cute, good luck.

:) They are very cute. If you ask me, I would say they are def. littermates as they look SO similar and the same age.

I agree with the others, vet time! Good luck and don't forget how important a quality diet is!!

The guy we got em from already gave them there shots and wormed them. he said they had worms realy bad when he got them, but dont anymore. but they will be going to the vet soon to get more shots and stuff. Oh and there names are Coco and Daisy(white ones daisy). I thought daisy looked jack russel, too, but to me they look like littermates, and cocos def. pit bull. there size/shape is the same.. other then daisy not having the big jaws.
I was thinking mabe there both hound/pit mix, its just coco takes more from the pitbull. I dunno. there very good pups, I dont think ill have a problem, but cocos does need to be socialized more. poor girl.

I'm glad you rescued them but you will sure have your hands full :p I don't really see any pit in the brown and white and I don't think the brown one looks very pitbull either. I have not seen too many pit puppies though. I do see JRT and possibly other terriers in there too. good Luck with them, they are adorable!

I'm sorry but I wouldn't believe what that guy says... I mean giving pups to anyone at a yard sale? It might be that they were his, not rescues at all. People do some wierd things. Anyway if he did deworm them two weeks ago, they would be due for another deworming now. With the way the most common puppy worms (roundworm) migrate and mature they probably still have worms.. if they were loaded before the first deworming. A second set of shots would be due soon too. Personally I would treat them as if they had no medical attention at all.

Good Luck with your pups, stick around.....Loads of great info here!

Good advice, everyone, I agree.

Hope you stick around -- I'd love to see how they're doing / watch them grow :)

They are very cute! Congrats :D

I also think that they look like they have worm bellies. I rescued a 6 week old puppy who was very full of worms, and her stomach looked very similar to those of your puppies. I would bring them to the vet and have them checked for worms. Also, I would be wary of believing that they have actually had their shots.

What kind of food are they being fed?

Very cute!!

I can see the JRT too.

Make sure you read up on how to raise 2 puppies together - it's not impossible, but you do need to work a bit harder... I posted lots of links about it awhile back in the puppy forum if you can find it!!

They are soo adorable! I would definitely take them to the vet. I wouldn't really trust some guy at a yard sale just giving puppies away. I can see him saying that to sell or give them away more easily.
Their bellies do have the wormy look. I think you should take them to the vet regardless of what that man said since you are not truly sure where they came from.

Maybe it is just me, but I don't see a lot of APBT in them.

Here is a picture of my APBT, Maisey, at 5 months old.

This is her at about 4 months old.

Congrats on your new babies. They are adorable! Good luck with them, and we want lots of pictures as they grow.

Well, like I said, they are probably both mixes. but either way I know coco has gotta have pit bull in her if not full blooded. I wish I could get a good pic of her face, she has big jaws, not as big has some, but she does have em.
I think as soon as she gets some weight on her she will look more like a pit.
she is actually taller then daisy, so will probably be a bigger dog then her. the guy had papers to show they had there shots. they have a good apetite, and the pictures I took are after they just ate, so thats probably why they apear like that in the pics. and they where still pretty skinny when I got em, I would have realy hate to of seen them before this guy rescued them, they must have been just skin and bones!! other then them being skinny, they seem healty, they got nice coats, no fleas, no ticks.
do you guys think its possible that they are from the same litter, and coco just looks more like the pit bull? and maybe theres JRT in them too and thats where daisy gets her looks? im just trying to figure it out, cuz I am pretty sure there from the same litter, despite what the guy told me.
He said Cocos parents where both pitbull, and daisy's where a hound and a pitbull, but I dont see any hound in her realy. Im stumped.

I would take what this guy is telling you with a grain of salt. Did he give you the vaccination records for the dogs? He should have, otherwise how do you know it wasn't from different dog(s). I agree with everyone here, treat them like they have never seen a vet. I also find it wierd that he said that they were from different parents but they are the same age.

There might be some APBT in them. Definately not full though. There are lots and lots of breeds with wider jaws. A mix between two breeds can do that. I have an American Staffordshire Terrier and his jaws are narrower than most. It doesn't mean he is not an AST, just bad breeding.

When I got Maisey at 3 months old she was skin and bones....literally. She didn't even have any muscle mass. Every bone in her body was sticking out. She looked aweful. When we got her she weighed about 7-9 lbs....at 3 months old!!!! I decided I was not going to deworm her just then. I wanted to know whether it was due to worms (unlikely, but possible) that she was that skinny or whether the people had just stopped feeding her. Well, without deworming she was gaining about 4 lbs a week. At the vets for her first set of vaccinations she weighed 19.6 lbs. She is way over 20 lbs now. She goes to the vet next Saturday for her boosters so I will find out what she weighs for sure.

Oh and by the way Maisy is adorable
Thank you so much and so are your two! :D

Where do you live? Depending on where, you might end up being happy they don't look APBT to some people.:)

Paws, your pups' coloration isn't "brown" it's called fawn. :D Both of them are fawn with white, althogh Daisy has a LOT more white on her.

Below is a link to some JRT puppies... They definitely bear a lot of resemblance to JRTs. I doubt you'll really know for sure (or be able to make an educated guess) about their heritage until they're fully grown.

They are just adorable. :) What Savethebulliedbreeds means is that in a LOT of places Breed-specific Legislation (BSL) is going on, and innocent dogs are being banned and/or killed. "Pit Bull" breeds are the most common to have the finger of hate and predjudice pointed at them, so it may be a good thing for you if they never bear more than a passing resemblance to APBTs or Amstaffs.
