and...

It's a done deal! Summer will be coming home with me in a few weeks as soon as she's ready. :D

I'm probably going to go see her next week, but it may be a couple weeks after that before she's ready to come here. Plenty of time to get ready for a papillon.

I can't wait to get some better pictures of her!

Haha, yeah, you all were right. ;)

Oh, and I talked to her about her pedigree and I just now realized, but she's Rose's half sister!

So we have Beau, then Beau's half sister Rose, then Rose's half sister Summer. Beau and Rose have the same sire, Summer and Rose have the same mother. Our lovely convoluted family!

Wow, I didn't even understand the family tree and I read it numerous times :)

Does this mean the Papillions outnumber the shelties ??? She'll love her new home with you :)

Hehe, I'd draw it out but I don't have a program to right now

Summer's sire (I don't know him)----Wendy-------Beau ----- Piggy

Okay, so we have in order of age, Summer who is the oldest. Her mom was Wendy and her sire was a dog that the breeder doesn't own and I don't know. I can't remember his name. She was one of a litter of three. Then Piggy and Beau (who is also not owned by the breeder but rather another breeder we know) had a litter- Beau Jr and Sable. We own Beau Jr. Then Beau and Wendy were bred and the result was a singleton litter of just Rose.

Confusing enough for you, lol?

So yes, now we'll have 3 papillons and 2 shelties. And we'll have had a total of three shelties and four papillons, so the paps are winning!

I should have known. Rose and Summer are a lot alike, but Summer is a lot more outgoing. She also hasn't been through all the owner issues that Rose went through before we got her.

We almost got a male from Summer's litter but decided to hold off and get a pup from the litter after hers, which was Beau's litter.

For some reason I thought that Summer was Pixie's daughter and therefore would have been Rose's cousin, not sister. It's kind of cool having siblings, though!

Okay to illustrate since I know I've confused everyone (including me!)

This is Summer (that horrible picture again, lol!)

This is her mother, Wendy:

This is Wendy's daughter from another litter, Rose:

Rose's father is named Beau:

This is Beau's son, also of the name Beau. (Beau Jr)

And this is Junior's mother, Piggy:

Lol, any questions? xD

LOL! Laurelin, if you knew how many times I've stood there trying to follow a dyed in the wool Deep Southerner explaining who all was cousin and first cousin three times removed and then get into step cousins . . . . it was really convoluted in North Carolina

Lol, what's really funny is trying to explain to people the fact that my parents met through a mutual cousin- but they're not related at all! It always raises eyebrows though!
