well, i found a jack russell. actualy he found me. i was out taking Ruckus to pee and this dog litterly jumps in my arms. i took him in the house. i guess he is staying until i can find the owner. i will look all day tomorrow. he is oviously a house dog. he knows his way around a bed, couch, and human laps. if i cannot find an owner my BF wants him.
what do i do in the mean time??? for tonight?

I'd keep him seperated from Ruckus. You have NO CLUE what vaccines this dog has had, where hes been and IF he has worms etc..

I'd start calling around Vet offices, reporting a found dog.. call to any shelters near by and put up posters for him...

Are you sure that your BF can handle a dog right now?

To be bluntly honest...try very very very hard to find this dog's owner. And if you can't, then let the vet rehome him. The last thing either of you need right now is a new dog.

Take him to the local Vets office and have him scanned to see if he is chipped.
While there get the Vet to give him a quick look over.

:( Why are dog's owner's so hard to find? I mean, if my dog/s were missing I'd be out searching like mad! With color posters and every vet, shelter, radio, pound, store etc within a 50mi radius would know! I swear, some people !!

I hope everything works out - any pics?? ;)

I found a jack russell down my street awhile back (we never ever ever see strays)... Asked lopeople on my street (who have lived there for YEARS) - who's is he?? Noone recognised him.

Turns out he lives round the corner - so make sure you knock on ALL local doors. You'll probably find out he hasn't come far.

I wonder the same thing... Zoey was wandering the street with no collar or tags while in heat! We put flyers all over the neighborhood, reported her as found to the shelters, put found ads online... and never heard a thing! It's really unbelievable.

Good luck finding the owners or a new home for your little stray.
