Most puppies I have had also went thru this disgusting stage. The best advice is to clean up as soon as you can after they go & if you catch them in the act to say NO & try to distract them. Generally, they will outgrow it.

Thanks for the link. It's good to know that its not unusual, the thing that caught my attention was the link at the bottom of the page. When i clicked on it, it took me to a page where i assume they sell poop treats. Yuk. The weird thing is that it had a girl on it... does that mean they are selling human waste cookies or something?
Or was that link a joke?

I heard it was an imbalance of nutrients and that there was a suppliment that you could give them that would help correct it. I know that cat food is higher in something like bone meal (i wish I could access the facts I read but I can only remember bits and pieces) and that is why they go after the cat's with such interest.
