Okay as you all may know i have a puppy chihuahua, and his ears flop over at the top. Is that normal? and usually they have ears that stand straing up..but i just started noticing it rrecentally. I have had bassethounds my whole life so im used to flopy ears. Just a question..please reply.

He's only a month?! *covers mouth with hand*

Anyways, they should probably start to stand up when he gets older. Maybe around 12/14 weeks. But some Chi's ears never stand up.

But Jessie should know more.

oKay but thatnks anyways. lol Im really loving this site.. I was wondering sence alll of you guys get along so well the owner scheudules a meet up so everyone can bring thweir dogs a socialize.

No, sometimes it takes a chihuahua's ears a few months to stand.

My Paco's ears didn't stand until he was about 3.5 months old.

Even some purebreds ears don't stand up completely. Bad breeding can cause this.

I have also heard that they will flop when they are teething....Jessie??

Regardless....he is adorable.

Hehe, I wish :) We all live so far apart it's kind of hard. But, yes, lots of people have met up.

I'm in Cali too :) I have a Chi who's ears go half way down too. I think mine is part Doxie but alot of people say she could be pure...check her out in my siggy.

Are you sure your dog's two months old..? And purebred? I thought your dog was a jrt/chi mix from the sig, and looks way older than 2 months. More like a year.

and ya he is purebred the vet infromed me of that yesterday, and ya hes only 2 months.. I noticed he looks larger in the pics but he's no larger than a small watermellon.
