And my response to the whole thing is sorta like this smiley chain ...
 :yikes: :rofl1: :D

Sooo, as you'll all remember I got a job (which I LOVE!) at a local pet food supply and I was also transferring to a Panera in MN.

Well the pet food store gives the schedule a month in advance, so I took the schedule to Panera and asked if they could schedule around my work there. The response was "Oh, yeah that would be fine."

Then they scheduled me OVER the other store  derp.
So I talked to the manager and she said that it was fine and since I was still working with a trainer (even though I am a trainer myself, because it was a new store, etc etc. whatevs) that it wouldn't put them down any people for the shift. So I was good to go, they knew I wouldn't be there. Right?

So two nights ago was the shift I couldn't work there and while I was at my pet food store job Panera called my cell and asked where I was and why I wasn't there for my shift. I didn't get the call until we closed since we are not allowed to have phones on us.

So I call Panera back yesterday morning and talked to the manager and told her the reason I wasn't there was BECAUSE SHE SAID IT WAS FINE and knew I wasn't going to be there.

She denied saying it (yes, I just made it up for sh!ts and giggles ) and said "I really just don't think this is going to work out." I think I may have snorted/giggled when she told me this, said okay, and hung up the phone.

Erm...huh?
At first I was a little upset because it is my first time ever being fired, plus I didn't do anything wrong, but then I thought about it and it really doesn't bother me at all. Their loss.

Considering they scheduled me for 6 hours last week and 3 hours this week I'm not exactly disappointed, or losing any substantial amount of money. I called one of my old managers from PA Panera and they congratulated me and asked if this meant I was coming back to PA and they could have me back, lol.

I can say though that I am a little happy knowing that on Feb 1st they are getting the new company auditing system in (the one PA has had for over a year), and they are going to get absolutely slaughtered. And I can say with 99% certainty that the managers will not be getting any of their bonuses this year :D

Whoo! It's a bit liberating, huh?

I still haven't quit my old job. I'm too much of a wuss to do it over the phone, and I've never quit a job before, so I don't want to burn my bridges, but gah. I can't do it, lol. :p

CD, yes it is liberating, I only wish I had quit before! Though I only worked one shift there :lol-sign: It did make me remember how much I HATE working there though. Ryan's dad is friends with a person out here who owns a Panera franchise store and could prob get me in but I am going to try and get into any other job that isn't food service before I go back there!

I think they are morons too Lilah. :p

Ah, don't you love the random shenanigans? You could file for unemployment, though at 3 hours a week, I'm not sure if it would be worth it.

Yeah, wouldn't be worth it. I am just going to try and see if I can get another job. Problem is that I don't want to give up any hours at my other job because I really like it, so I am going to try and find a 3rd shift part time job because who needs sleep anyway :p

 That's ridiculous! At least it's not a huge chunk of your earnings or anything!

Reminds me of when I was fired from Target several years ago. My reaction was pretty much :D :D :D because those big box stores treat their employees like crap. There were a few times I TOLD them I couldn't work because back then I didn't have my own car or a driver's license, and those few times my mom couldn't drive me. I even filled out their little pink "time off" slips two weeks in advance and all that stuff, but they ignored me! They also liked to change the schedule day to day, and if you called to check it, they would get very pissy. So I guess you were supposed to show up every day just to check the schedule?
