So pretty. (Says I who used to dislike spaniel looking dogs)

I think it's the ear fringe...

They look like a phalene given steroids...

Kooikerhondjes van de Gantelhoeve

I must say I love the out of standard tris...

Nizozemski Å¡panijel za vabljenje :: Kooikerhondje :: Small Dutch Waterfowl Dog :: Kooiker - sve o pasmini

I know I've asked before but does anyone have any experience with them? Most the stuff I find is not in English.

My only concern is they're not THAT much bigger than papillons (sheltie sized pretty much).

LOL I was thinking of you last night- they were one of the breeds featured on Dogs 101.

...I think it's the ear fringe...
Found out they call that ear fringe ear rings. ;)

...They look like a phalene given steroids...).
I thought they were rather Phalene-ish looking, too.

...My only concern is they're not THAT much bigger than papillons (sheltie sized pretty much).
You're right, from what was said on TV last night, they're about the same size as a Sheltie (35 pounds was mentioned). I was rather intrigued with them, too.

ETA try this AKC link for more info: American Kennel Club - Kooikerhondje

I don't know a thing about them, but you do seem to come back to them quite often...any chance your third dog will be one?

I keep thinking there was a member here who got one as a puppy, and it was black and white with ticking. Can't remember who it was though.

Probably not but there's always a chance. They're so rare here though! I also worry that they might be too small and maybe not enough 'oomph' for me, but I've watched some youtube of kooikers in agility and they were really fast and drivey looking from what I saw.

My list for #3 is still: Border collie, Cattle Dog, Pyr Shep, Sheltie, Kooiker, Toller + the always lingering possibility of another papillon. Its been those breeds for a while now and doesn't seem to change much.

They definitely seem like my kind of dog anyways. It'd look fantastic with the papillons. :lol-sign: Would be a nice matching set.

ZOMG Someone's Phalene fell into nuclear waste and mutated giant!

They are gorgeous. I wonder if they're as smart and willing to please as Paps?

Kooikers are so pretty! I love them. Temperament wise they seem really nice as well, but I've had a tough time finding any indepth information.

I LOVE Koikers. I've known about them for about five years. There isn't really much info on them, but they are beautiful dogs. They are closely related to Tollers. I'd love to own one some day. :)

On the hundwebben site, there is a pap next to one (gorgeous, both of them, well, all three of them)

Anyways, its barely bigger then it! They are super adorable, but I don't know much temperament wise, the rarest dog I've met around here is a Pyrenese
