I'll keep it to a minimum so as not to bore you all to death.
My mom's boyfriend is in charge of the challenge course at a local college. We tried it out today.
If the pics aren't that good it's cause I was too lazy to fix them, I just put 'em up.

The Wall.

My sister and I before climbing.

My sister and her boyfriend gearing up...yea.

I was up first.

PLEASE don't post until they are all done. Thanks!

My sister doing watching Mike instead of helping, lol. I was out of the shot at the end of the rope. My job? If Mike falls and mom's boyfriend can't hold him throw yourself on the ground. Yea...I can do that! xD

She wasn't much help.

Then it was my sister (who teased me horribly while I was up) turn.
CLIMB!

Yea...right. This is how far she got before she started freaking out and wanting down. We could still touch her easily. XD

OOH! So much fun!! I love those walls!
Me too! Each side has a course, so there's lots of them to do. One side is so hard that the only person who has made it to the top was a professional rock climber who came out. Crazy!

Looks like a lot of fun!
It was soooo much fun. I don't know what was better, actually climbing it or making fun of my sister as she climbed.

Screw the parking lot.

I want to do that.
ROFLMAO! That's only 1/3 of it Nolu. There is also a high elements course that is friggin amazing. One part, you stand on the top of a telephone pole and there is a trapeze bar 8 feet away that you have to try and grab as you jump, called the Leap of Faith.
Here's a pic of the high elements course in the winter:

Leap of Faith bar:

And then there is also the low elements course, which I did some of and is wicked fun.

Oh that looks like so much fun. although i don't know if at this point I could haul my big butt up there lol.

your sister (the older of the two) cracks me up lol.

Lol, I'm telling my sister you said that! She refuses to go out in public with me because she says I embarrass her xD

No, I actually didn't make it to the top. I was doing fine as far as my legs and arms, but I got to the point where my fingers just wouldn't grip the rocks. They just wouldn't respond, so I had to come down. I'm going to start squeezing tennis balls before I go back next time.

awww come on being embarrassed is fun :)

I know what you mean. I haven't done a wall climb in many years but I am so out of shape now that I think my legs, arms, fingers, toes, etc etc would all give out on me lol.

Looks like you had lots of fun! Great pictures!

That wall looks like a lot of fun!!! I wish one of my local colleges had a coarse and wall like that. I guess I will have to stick to the indoor rock climbing gym for practice. I love rock climbing.......one of my many hobbies........

As for the gripping of the rocks, have you tried rock climbing "chalk"?

Also, Most people think that rock climbing is an upper body strength oriented sport. The fact of the matter is rock climbing primarily uses legs, good footwork and balance. ;) Good rock climbing shoes really make a big difference.

Glad you had such a great time and hope to see more pictures of the next trip down to the coarse and the wall.......I will sit here a drool. LOL! Thanks for sharing.
