have you ever noticed when you morning goes wrong the rest of the day does too. Hubby and I are now arguing as he called me back and said it was Roxies fault and she shouldn't have barked at the dogs, or wnet to meet them. I explained to him once again she was in her yard and they ran to her and circled her. She was in her yard, they were in her yard. They shouldn't have been there. They should have been in their yard. Now my garbage disposal seems to be clogged and I can find the reset button. Ugh what next? I want to go back to bed, and start my day over.

Oh I feel so bad for Roxie. I hope she gets a good night's sleep and feels better tomorrow. Let us know how she's doing.

If it were me, I would personally whip that neighbors irresponsible butt into next week. He had no right cutting a hole in your fence, especially if he knows you have animals that need to be contained in your yard. As for Roxie's eye, I would ice it down as best I could. You know, the whole 10 minutes on 10 minutes off method. We live on a mountainside, and our cat is always getting into battles with mountain lions and skunks, and I usually mix up a saline solution to put on his cuts.

8 ounces of sterile water and 1/4 teaspoon of salt. Sea salt is preferable, but table salt works just fine. Put it in the microwave long enough to heat it up to a few degrees above body temp. and apply it with a cottonball. It should take a lot of the swelling away. It shouldn't be any saltier than human tears, and shouldn't sting her skin. It always works on my cat =)

I'm lost why would he put a gate to access your property. But you can just put "fence wire on your side of his gate to keep your dogs in an all the others out, Hang it a little lower on the bottome to take up the gap under the gate if it had clearance under it. Fasten the wire to the cattle gate wit wire and it will not come loose and dare the idiot to say anything about it. Just a suggestion but it will work nicely even it you don't put it all the way to the top.

Thanks to everyone for listening to me rant. It was a stressfull day as the dogs didn't get to play outside. Brutus was the worst as he likes his playtime outside. Keith didn't make it home in time to fix the fence and he has another job tomorrow so I guess it will be the leashes again. I will try to get my son to do something. Roxie is very sore I did what the emrg. vet said and washed her eye but now she has a lump coming up on her flank. When Keith got home about 9:00 pm there was a pit bull in our yard. I didn't realize how many dogs ran loose in the neighborhood. The animal control officer stopped by again later and said another neighbor had called in also. The dogs had attacked her chow in her yard. He thinks they may have turned feral. I am not sure as they had collars on. It is an absolute mess. All because of the stupidity of one person. The animal control officer did agree my neighbor is an idiot. He said I should have taken the hose to the dog fight but I told him by the time I got the hose to them Roxie might have been hurt, the broom was the only I thought of at the time. I hated to hit the dog with the broom but I can't have mine hurt. I have had the worse headache from this I guess it raised my blood pressure. I just want things to be back to normal where my dogs can go outside and play and lay in the sun if they want to without fear of being mauled by strange dogs. it seemed like Brutus wanted out every half hour and Roxie had to go out evertime he did. I guess she was being protective. It honestly made it harder on me with two leashes but we made it thru the day. Guess we will see what today brings. Sorry couldn't sleep. It is bothering me and I am concerned about Roxie.

Neighbor HAS no right to put up a gate to access your property. Put up a couple of "No Trespassing" signs if necessary to clarify the issue. Fence back over the gate. Send him a vet bill . . .

It sounds like Brutus is getting more protective of you, Roxie and his territory. A Campo Fila should grow up to be a true Guardian ;)

yea!!!!!Hubby called his client, and took the day off

:) Keith let Brutus out this morning and Brute went in the neighbors yard. He had to get him, (he didn't listen to me about the leash) He decided it was best to take the day off and fix the installed gate. Maybe life will get back to normal now. Thank goodness.
