My mom Said that my step dad and step brother could get a Rottweiler. I hate it. One reason is we have 5 dogs and 1 cat. We don't need another dog. Plus a Rottweiler. I don't think so. (It Not that I don't like Rottweiler. Its just that we don't have the money to take care of another big dog. We have 2 big dogs.) ANd how my step dad treats his GSD the Rottweiler will become mean, and I don't like mean dogs. Plus it selfish because there are thousand of pure bred dogs and sheters and they have to get it from a breeder. It make me SO MAD.

bummer....why are they so set on a Rottweiler? (which I also happen to adore them, so it's not a mean question) more of a question as to why they want another dog...this particular breed, especially when you already have so many dogs. :) just curious

That's got to be one of the worst reasons for getting a dog I've ever heard, right behind "it'll match the new couch". If they want to get into a pissing contest over who's is bigger, get into pumpkins or something.

Maybe if the breeder is responsible, she/he won't let the dog go to your home, because of those reasons...?

The breeders don't ask how many dogs do you have. Plus My dad will just lie.

You any of you tell me what would be a good spot to check the limits of animals.

I think most cities limit the number of dogs to 2 and total animals to 4...at least that's how my city is. I can't tell you about rural...maybe place a tip with animal control?

Where I live it's a max of 3 dogs and a max of 6 large animals.

Try to find out how many animals are allowed where you live.

Neko, there's got to be a municipal gov't number you could find pertaining to animals in the phone book, or something. Maybe something under licensing or something? You GO, GIRL!!!

In my city there isn't an ordinance or anything saying how many you can have, but if you live in a neighborhood the homeowners association won't allow any more than 2 animals per household.

just thought of something else, you could also casually mention to you mom that she'd have to check with her homeowners policy as some breeds require you to carry extra insurance...which costs more. maybe that will get her thinking more about the situation. (around here GSDs are one of those breeds...which doesn't seem fair, but that's just the laws I guess)
