Goddess of Hearth and Home. Yep, the dinner party was some serious Alex win.
I'll spare you the details of exactly how I prepared my home dinner for 20-something people, but I will tell you, my house was decorated and presentable and food was ready and DELICIOUS. I didn't mess up on a single thing!! I'm not normally a good cook (I forget things, burn things, measure wrong, etc) but I was in the ZONE.
Mel and I were beasts in the kitchen. We were actually done by like 4 o'clock and had time for a quick round of Smash Brothers Brawl...and make an extra pie! She was such a huge help, I never would have gotten it done without her.
Zach was great, too. He tried so hard to be responsible and help out...running to the store and cleaning up and being adorable. He can be a little immature at times but last night he really showed that he can be an adult when the time comes.
Milo was an ANGEL. Well, for most of the night. We was so excited to be a part of everything, he didn't jump up on anyone, run around manically, bark incessantly, try to steal any food, or play-bite anyone. He just kind of wandered around from person to person, saying hi. He did some tricks for Zach's parents, which they LOVED, sat on Mel's mom's lap for a bit, got off the couch when I asked, and basically kept checking in with me to make sure he was doing okay.
After dinner, I was sitting on the couch with Zach and James. Milo jumped on my lap and Zach immediately took his arm away from me. I told him Milo was fine with it but he wouldn't come too close anyway. James was laughing at him because he was so nervous and Zach said "I don't like being growled at!" To which James responded "grrr.", and Milo responded "SNARGGGFFRARRRRRR" *teeth*. I took Milo to the bedroom at that point (it was pretty late and he had had a lot of stimulation) and yelled at James because he's stupid.
I'll quit rambling. Here are the pictures...
My centerpiece, SO CUTE
my un-thanksgiving-y colored tablecloth and plasticware, BUT THEY MATCH.
Milo really loves my friend Ryan. He was sitting on his lap, but when I came into take a picture he got excited to see me and tried to jump off the arm of the couch
Zach and I. It's not a great picture of either of us, but I really like it.
